So I was just wondering which amusement parks you guys have visited. I haven't been to very many out of Virginia, but here are a few examples:
Paramount's Kings Dominion : Doswell, Virginia
This place use to suck, as most of the things around the park were Hanna-Barbera themed rides like "Captain Caveman's Clipper" and "The Scooby Doo Rollercoaster", as well as attractions using the Paramount name like "Days of Thunder" which was one of those watch-on-big-screen rides where the seat moved. Anyways, the park has since gotten a little better.
Busch Gardens : Williamsburg, Virginia
I loved this place, and still do. So many sweet roller coasters and fun 3D rides, as well as a bunch of other good shit. Now as an adult it's even cooler because you can drink beer while waiting in line for the rides. Sweet.
Dolly World : Bumfuck, Tennessee
A theme park with a Dolly Parton theme, and it's just as awful as anyone could imagine. "Come watch Dolly's half brother in-law play the spoon's and witness old people make soap!"

"Dolly World?" That's what happens when one person gets too much godammn money lol.
For me, I would have to say Disneyland, since its the only park I've been to. It is really fun though. I know its aimed at younger kids, but I still enjoy it. It really does feel "happier" there somehow.

Michigan's Adventure and Cedar Point FTW.
They have their problems, but so do all amusement parks.

I've been to Universal Studios Florida, Wet and Wild waterpark, both of which were excellent and in Orlando, and to a lesser extent Valleyfair and Camp Snoopy in the MoA (Now it's some Nickelodeon themed shit since the thing with the Peanuts characters has run out.)

Six Flags, in Eureka, Missouri, if only for one ride: the Tidal Wave. I've been to about five or six amusements parks total, and they all have that ride where you ride on a moving car-type thing, go up a hill, turn, and go down a hill really fast where there's a whole bunch of water at the bottom and it gets you wet, but the one at Six Flags is the best. Especially when you stand on the bridge that's in front of the splashing car; when it's over a hundred degrees outside and you've been walking around, wallowing in your own sweat for 5+ hours, the Tidal Wave is a godsend.

The Viper Coaster at Six Flags is poorly designed.
The Over the Shoulder Restraints featured in the Viper to keep you from flying to your death are made of metal. There's a bit of space between either side of your head and the metal restraints.
Whenever you are going through one of those spirally loopy freak you out parts of the track, your head will whip against the metal over the shoulder restraints.
Since the Viper is almost all loopy spirally shit, you head and ears start to get sore from continually being slammed against those lovely metal over the shoulder restraints.
Some foam would have been nice, I've never had a gigantic neck bigger than my head like George Corpsegrinder, especially at the age of 11 .

Do they do it like in Fight Club?

For future reference it's Dollywood, not world. I don't want to come off as snarky, I just felt you guys should know. It sucks pretty hard though.

Shockwave was worse. It used to fuck up my neck badly.
Regardless, Viper was the best coaster there until Raging Bull was built.

It has been over a decade since I have been to an amusement park. The last one I went to was Kings Dominion in Virginia right after Paramount purchased it. I do have fond memories of the place as a little kid though and it was probably my favorite growing up. I have also been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Hershey Park, and Wild World (before it was purchased by Six Flags). I actually have the park brochures for all of them dating from the early 80s/late 70s. I even have the one from the year Kings Dominion opened up.
Other than that I have been to the Busch Gardens in Tampa, Universal Studios, and Disney World, I have only been to those parks twice though.

I remember when i was sixish my parents brought me to a place called Dutch Wonderland in Pennsylvania. The park mostly sucked ass, but none of the rides had height limits, so i rode the big centerpiece wood coaster over and over again.
