Enough lolligagging, it's Quarterfinal time. 8* people left, let's make it 4**. First up...the oldest of the old vs the newest of the new.
Syd Lexia...well, you know the guy...handily defeated his first round opponent Lordsathien 26-17. His second round matchup with Knyte was also classic, with Syd barely holding on 24-19.
Fernin, the newcomer and botmaster, shockingly defeated first round opponent Ba'al 28-13, and also managed to blow away his second round opponent IceWarm 26-8
Syd did not send us a promo, but he did promise some Lazy Town songs, so we can all wait for those.

Well, I was going to put up an Underdog video as my first campaign move, but considering that I'm up 7-0 within minutes of this thing starting... I dunno if I can consider myself the underdog now...
Edit: Wow, make that 8-0, apparently I got another vote while writing this... You guys rock.

This was something I noticed early on that's interesting. First off, there are a few people that have done well mainly because of their chat room presence (myself, Fernin, and Spehornoob leap to mind immediately).
Second, the "chat favorite" has tended to do well early on because the chat room notices the match sooner (I put it in the topic). However, the "board favorite" tends to pick up the late votes.

Yeah, well for something I threw together in 5 minutes before heading off to work for a nice 7 - 7 shift, it's not so bad.
And if you were more clever, you would have held off on voting and tried to make a trade.

Let's talk about web comics for a minute, shall we?
I've got a web comic that is updated daily, without fail, that just reached strip #500 today.
Syd also has a web comic, I'm told, but I've never seen it update, having only joined in December... Doing a little digging, I found out that the last time he updated was June 27th, 2008. What kind of dedication is that? Do you really want to vote for someone who doesn't take the time to work on his own comic?

I have to wonder if Fernin's pear, Adox, is related to Audrey II, as the way its mouth is drawn reminds me of it from Little Shop of Horrors. Also, it makes me think of Spore Spawn from Super Metroid.
However, the above will have little bearing on my vote once I make it. Someday.
