One would presume the kids playing a game called Guitar Hero are more interested in a GN'R reunion than seeing G-Unit, being as GN'R actually has guitars and stuff. |
That is if they only have Guitar Hero because everyone else has one...

That would be my guess. I mean I'm glad that GH has served to educate so many people on the greatness of rock, but I doubt many people were buying it because it had Iron Maiden on it.

I'd really love to see an Iron Maiden game as well as a Pink Floyd game.

I would enjoy a GH: Nirvana too, but since they only really lasted for three albums before Kurt passed away, I don't really see it happening. |
hahaha, Nirvana songs on GH and RB are sometimes actually harder than playing the song on the guitar, but still incredibly easy. I don't think that nirvana has enough diversity in their music to make an entire interesting game. Like em, but they weren't exactly known for their killer riffage.
Though I think the Iron Maiden one would be pretty awesome.

They should just release an All 90 era Grunge/Alternative edition of GH.
For easier stuff, you can do Nirvana and Kurt's three bar chord songs.
Then move up to songs with more fretwork, such as Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, and Smashing Pumpkins.
Then progress up to crazy stuff like Chili Peppers, Jane's Addition, and Primus.
That would be my dream GH game.

Yeah, I'd definitely prefer musical period or genre games instead of band-centric ones. Then the metalheads, grungers, punks, classic nuts, indie rockers, etc. can get their fill.

Give Napalm Death a GH game, they've got tons of songs. Though I'm pretty sure the kids wouldn't have any idea who they are, and Napalm probably wouldn't be very cosy about being in a video game.

If I had to pick one band to have a game of, then I think I would go with Queen, just because they have such a diverse selection of songs, some simple and sweet (EASY in game terms), and some that are very Guitar Centric (HARD in game terms.)

"Immortality (Live at Benaroya Hall version)"
"Comatose"
"Spin the Black Circle"
"Brother"
Very Hard:

"Aeroplane Flies High (turns left, looks right)"
"Lucky 13"
"Pox"

Very Hard:

GH: Metallica is superb, way better than World Tour, and I hate Metallica. I would wager saying that the Rolling Stones would get the next band game in the GH series, as they're basically Aerosmith, just English...and cooler.
And syd, I don't think having songs come out on other games would stop Nirvana from getting a GH, as there are a few songs on GH: Metallica that have appeared on their older GH's or Rock Band.

Yes, but Nirvana has a significantly smaller catalog, so the fact that several of their best songs have already been used makes it hard to sell people on a dedicated game. Nirvana is more of a DLC band than a band you can base a game around, much like Blink-182 and Good Charlotte.

I don't think enough people like Smashing Pumpkins.
Pearl Jam might work though.

Good point. My dark horse to get the next game is a band that everyone seems to forget they exist, even though they're immensely awesome. No, not Led Zep; the Who.

The Who would be fantastic. They could even release a special collector's edition with an exploding drumkit.
