After writing up an epic post on this same subject for my blog (see sig), I figured this might be a good topic for discussion here. What are some bands that have the same names as other bands? And which do you prefer?
Some of the ones I selected for my article were:
Incubus=death/thrash band and rock band.
Poison=Black/death/thrash band and glam band.
Mayhem=Thrash/speed band and Black Metal band.
Slaughter=Death/thrash band and glam band.

Of those, I prefer:
Tie between the two Incubuses.
Black/death/thrash Poison.
Thrash Mayhem.
Death/thrash Slaughter.
Those are just a few. Anyone have more examples? I could post some samples of the aforementioned artists for comparison if people would like me to.

Nirvana, and '60s Nirvana!

Well, '60s Nirvana is actually bitching at times, though Cobain's Nirvana definately wins it, for me.

There's also Kaleidoscope the American Psychadelic folk band, and Kaleidoscope the UK Psychadelic band.

Myself, I much prefer the American Kaleidoscope.

There was also a death metal band called Nirvana that added a "2002" to the end of their name after they broke up.
I also forgot to include the two Therions, one being the more famous death/gothic metal band, and the other being a somewhat boring thrash band.

The cooler metaler Warrant from Germany, and the gay Warrant that we all know about.
