Okay, its widely accepted that the Kano Transformation stat in MK2 was made to create interest in the game and that the Kano Transformation doesn't really exist. Is this just an assumption by the gaming community, or did somebody involved in the development of the game actually confirm it? The creators have been so secretive I have never seen an interview where they said that. Can you please tell me where the creators confirmed that as a fact?

The Kano Transformation stat was a BS stat they put in MK2 to create more rumors.

When Kano was left out of the character roster in Mortal Kombat 2, rumors ran rampant that he was included as a secret character. Some swore that Shang Tsung could "morph" into Kano and use his moves. This rumor, although false, was actively encouraged by the crafty Mortal Kombat design team, who included an audit menu with the false heading "Kano Transformations" just to have some fun with conspiracy theorist fans. These rumors made the rounds for the better part of a year before folks just accepted that Kano was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, he made a triumphant return a few years later in Mortal Kombat 3.

This is an opinion based question but none the less, I need to find the perfect combination of weapons to use in Gradius 3 so I can finally beat the game. So what is the best combo?

This is what I'm using:

Missile-Hawk wind
Double-Double
Laser-Twin Laser
Option-F.Option
?-Force field
!-Full Barrier

Any advice would be terrific.

I haven't played Gradius III in years, so I will turn you over to someone more knowledgable than me on the subject:

Well, the US release in the least censored version of the game. (UK version was chopped to shite.) So, if you don't already have the US version, get it. Then, if you want to see all the videos in the game, without having to play the game, use this guide:

Yes.

As with real aircraft, landing is the most difficult and delicate aspect of
the flying aspect of the game. Once the ADF begins rotating wildly, you are over the landing zone and should begin landing procedures. At this point, you should do the following:

1. Reduce speed to 0 KPH
2. Descend quickly to about 600 feet, then slow down your descent
3. At 250 feet, enable whisper mode (W on control panel)
4. Slow decent to 2 feet per interval once you are below 200 feet
5. Make sure the craft is level. Easiest way to tell is if the horizon lines
are straight. Watch Jimbo's hands and make adjustments if he tilts or
pulls back on the throttle

Landing can be VERY frustrating and will take many attempts to master. The
most common errors are the following:

1. Landing too fast (anything more than 2 ft. per interval) -- Crash
2. Tilting the aircraft during touchdown -- Crash
3. Using whisper mode too late or not at all -- Captured by enemy
4. Using the whisper mode too soon. This heats the oil too much and causes
engine damage -- Crash
5. Still moving while trying to land (speed MUST be 0 KPH) -- Crash

There are a lot of things to worry about. Focus first on slowing your rate of
descent, as this eliminates the most common reason for crashing and gives you
extra time to follow the necessary steps.

Steel Battalion (XBOX)

1. It's a mech sim. And, I mean SIM.
2. If you don't eject in time, the game erases your saves and you have to start over from the beginning.
3. You have to master this controller:

Yep, a little copy pasta for you.

I played the game about 20 years ago on the Commodore 64, and I remember landing about 1 out of every 5 or 6 tries. It was insanely hard.

Also, I didn't know if you meant the C=64 version or the far inferior NES version, so I found a non-specific guide to use.

Will Steel Battalion work on the XBOX 360 with that controller? That looks wild. I used to love to play Virtual On on the Dreamcast all the time. I thought the dual stick controller for that one made the game more realistic, but that controller for Steel Battalion takes it to a whole new level. That has to be quite an experience to play.

It is an awesome game to play, but it gets very hard, very fast. All the buttons light up, and some even flash. (Like the "eject" button will flash right before your mech is about to be destroyed.) There is even a sequel that added multiplayer over LAN and Xbox Live.

Sadly, no, it will not work on the 360 as the controller uses the original Xbox's proprietary plug for the controller.

Oh well. I do have an Xbox, but its just not hooked up at the moment though. It just would have been more convenient to play it on the 360 if it was possible. I will definitely have to get that at some point though. I had never heard of it before now.

There really is only one MAME. There are other emulators that do arcade machines, but they usually only focus on one or two chipsets. (Like Kawaks which only does CPS System 1, CPS System 2, and NeoGeo games.)

If you are running windows, I suggest getting MAMEUI, which is made for windows, and has a built in Frontend (Which means it has a built in GUI for selecting and running games, so you don't have to type in command line strings.)

Even though MAME is freeware and not illegal, I don't know if Syd wants me to paste a link to an emulator here, so just google "MAMEUI" and you'll find it.

There are readmes and faqs that come with it for instructions. Though, you'll need to find the roms yourself, which are easy enough to find with google as well.

After you cross the rickety bridge "USE" the Wand on the Snake to cause it to transform into the "Staff of Ages."

Here's one about Diablo II.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the original plan was to have Baal be the boss of Act II instead of Duriel. Everything in Act II seems to lead up to a confrontation with him, Baal is kind of written out of the story in later acts (he appears in cutscenes, but that's it), and absolutely nothing seems to give you any indication of Duriel's existence until you pop into the tomb. The biggest support for this I have is seeing an old issue of a gaming magazine (darned if I can remember what) where someone did a 24-hour session with a development version of Diablo II...he specifically mentions that Baal is the Act II boss, and even having to use a cheat to kill him (it is of course possible that he simply assumed it was Baal, or that he was told not to "spoil the surprise".)

I get the feeling Baal was yanked out of the game simply so they could do an expansion, and make more money.

What do you know about this?

That was an issue of InQuest, I think when they added Gamer to the title. I'm in agreeance with you that the whole Duriel Baal thing is stinkeyes.

You know, I thought it was Inquest, but then I thought there was no way it could have been Inquest...since they didn't do video games. Thanks.

I am terribly sorry, I must have missed it.

The 8th Sword's Orb* is unattainable without the mentioned cheat/trick.

* There are only 8 orbs. People refer to it as the 9th orb, because it is the 9th level of the sword's power. (ie Before you get the 1st orb from the Mantis Ant, your sword is 1st level.)

List of Sword's Orbs:

1. Earned after defeating Mantis Ant, the first boss.
2. In a chest in Pandora's treasure room. After ditching Evil Wall
in the ruins, talk to the King for the guard to move away,
allowing you to enter the room.
3. Earned after defeating Great Viper, the tenth boss.
4. In a chest in the Northtown Ruins.
5. Given by the King after defeating Dark Stalker.
6. In a chest in the Grand Palace.
7. Earned after defeating Thunder Gigas, the thirty-fourth boss.
8. See Above.

Fun Fact: Did you know Secret Of Mana is a sequel? It was released in Japan as "Seiken Densetsu 2". What was Seiken Densetsu 1, and was it released in the USA? Yes, it was released locally as "Final Fantasy Adventure" on the original Gameboy.

Well, you guys pretty much have all the info. Every interview and piece of info I can find regarding Diablo II make no mention of Baal being in Act 2. The only piece of evidence is the InQuest article that you brought up.

I guess to find the truth, you would have to interview the guys at Blizzard. Might be kind of hard though, last I heard they now spend most of thier time in their Scrooge McDuck like money vault swimming around in money collected from WoW.
