Thank god, they finally gave us a way to store our shit in a more orderly fashion. Today Wii owners can update their system with the Wii Menu 4, which includes all the firmware for your SD card storage.

9:52 a.m.: Finally, talking about an answer to save more content on Wii. Presumably the SD card access. Bill Trinen from NOA takes the stage to show off "a menu." An SD card icon is now located on the bottom-left corner on the WIi Channel interface. Click on it and it'll take you to a Wii Channel area that scrolls 20 times over, allowing you to save up to 200 games. Wii System Menu 4 is the name of this update and it supports high capacity SD cards up to 32BS. You can now download content directly to an SD card now. And you can also launch content directly off the SD card. Sweet gods, thank you!
This live IGN blog from the Game Developers Conference during Nintendo President Iwata's keynote this morning caught the announcement.
I updated and it works rather seamlessly, I am now in the process of re-downloading all the shit I had to delete as a result of running out of space.
This day has been a long one coming.
Edit: My good look at some of these real time updates, I'm gonna have a heart attack.

Link is able to direct a sidekick character, an armor-clad warrior, with the stylus. Fights huge crab-like boss. It's called The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Will be available later this year.

Awesome stuff!! Also now i can re-download The Nintendo Channel. I always liked it and all its little perks, but had to delete because it is such a huge fucking file. Good work Nintendo.
Also, lets hope that we will be able to take these SD cards with our saved VC games and load them onto our DSi if we so choose.
edit: Also, if you go on the Nintendo Channel, they have a video demonstrating the new Zelda game. It looks pretty slick, the dungeons look very ALTTPesque with a nice a amount of tasteful DS stylus gesturing, can't wait.

What's 32BS? I have an 8GB card, will it read that?
That is exciting news to me. After downloading that update, I can finally play games directly from the SD card.
Nintendo finally solved one of the biggest issues regarding the Wii.

A huge crab-like boss? Sounds like. . . .

By default, it has to be FF1, FF4, FF6, and Mystic Quest.
I tend to agree, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it.
FFIV just had a major release for the DS... would it get another US release so soon?

Im such a sucker, I will problem buy FF6 again, for like the 1,000,000th time. Hah.
But its too good a game not to be instantly on hand with whatever console happens to be most ready available (I've done the same thing, for the record.)

Ahh its so damn satisfying to be able to have all the games I payed for on the VC actually on hand now. I had like 10 downloaded games as well as the Nintendo Channel deleted before this update.
You know, at the risk of contradicting myself, I almost don't want them to put the original Final Fantasy games on the VC, mainly because of how bad the original translations were.

FFVI has a pretty good translation IMO, they are not nearly as bad as the original Breath of Fire's.....yikes.

Why?

And since the Virtual Console Arcade is finally out, here's a list of games I want to see:
Splatterhouse - Namco
Pac-Man - Namco
Ms. Pac-Man - Namco
Galaxian - Namco
Dig Dug - Namco
Pole Position - Namco (Nintendo should also implement the Wii Wheel on it, too.)
Galaga - Namco
Outrun - Sega
Wonder Boy - Sega
Donkey Kong - Nintendo
Mario Bros. - Nintendo
Donkey Kong Jr. -Nintendo
Radar Scope - Nintendo
Street Fighter - Capcom
Street Fighter II - Capcom
Those are the ones I can think of. I know that most of them are already released on the Virtual Console in a different format (such as the NES version), but I want to see the original arcade version on it.
Also, I didn't mention either Space Invaders or Space Harrier because I know that they're already planned for release on the Virtual Console Arcade.

Good list, I am really excited about the possibilities of the virtual console arcade.
