Mark Zuckerberg is the CEO of Facebook. He's also a complete fucking idiot. The site is ugly as fucking fuck and stupid now. If I wanted to a gayass Twitter clone, I'd be on fucking Twitter. I'm not though, cuz Twitter is completely fucking gay. I hope Mark Zuckerberg dies suddenly and horribly, but of natural causes. I do not wish murder upon him. This is in no way a threat against his well-being and cannot be construed as such.

A bunch of my friends are up in arms over the whole "New New Facebook." Personally, while I preferred the old layout and think Zuckerberg should have stuck with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy, I don't care enough to complain, and I've already gotten used to the new layout. As long as my friends stay on it, it's not really an issue to me.

Well, I was gonna get a Facebook account later today, but it seems with all these changes... nah. I'll stay on myspace.

FACT: People on Facebook are slowly becoming as dumb as people on Youtube.
Facebook itself isn't as fun as it once was for me.

I agree, I have been on FB since 2005 and these changes are really starting to bug me.
I just got over the last major overhaul, and then yes your right, they try to turn it into a Twitter clone, wtf.
Its more cumbersome than ever now!
Oh and fuck myspace, I get solicited by porn bots more there than when I'm actually viewing it

A-fuckin'-men. I remember I once got four friends requests from porn stars in one day. Horrible security, too. The one that I'd had since the summer of my freshman year in high school got hacked for the first time last month (even though I didn't enter my password into any phishing site) and I can't change my password due to an error in their method of freezing a hacked account. I just decided to make a new account for the six friends I have on MySpace that haven't made the jump to FaceBook. FB is kind of the "grown up" version of MySpace anyway.
Side note: I went through my old, hacked MySpace and realized I could delete 86 people without even batting an eye. On my Facebook, I could delete maybe 5 people. Odd indeed.
So, Old Facebook>New Facebook>New New Facebook/Twitbook>MySpace>Twitter

I'm beginning to think that every update's purpose is for catering to thsoe with bad vision; every time they make an annoyingly monumental change like this one, the fonts and icons increase in size. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just don't want to end up seeing a 72-size font every time I try logging in to Facebook.
Also, I hate facebook's new all-or-nothing ignore principle. Just because one of my friends makes an insignificant status update every ten minutes doesn't mean I want to shun them completely.

It does suck, but people will get used to it.
Being a veteran on tons of social websites, I've gone through many format changes. People get used to it and forget it. Even if it is completely gay

As have I, but twitter is fucking miserable, and the way this new facebook imitates it is shameless.

Remember back when you needed a college e-mail address to join Facebook? Those were the days!
If you're looking for a more "grown up" alternative to Facebook, I believe www.linkedin.com is now the way to go, although I think it's mainly for professional networking, not social networking.

For years people have been bitching at me to get a MySpace... The second I made this January I got 'Oh, that's great and all but... Get a Facebook now!'
I hope thanks to this they'll back the fuck off for a bit. Well, except one of them since he just recently said 'Oh, great. I go get Twitter and now Facebook is the same thing. But you seriously need a Facebook now!'
I hate some of the people I talk to...

I actually enjoyed Facebook when it was more college exclusive and less of a stalker site. It is interesting watching social networking sites evolve and see where they go. I can only assume that sometime in the next 10 years that body sensors on my body will alert all my female friends when I have an erection.

I can't say I preferred the old facebook because by the time I got a college email address, they opened it up to everyone anyway.
Some time back though, I read a Rolling Stone article they did on the kid that started facebook, and there was not even a brief moment I didn't stop to think "DOUCHEBAG." If I remember correctly, it was an article about how he'd started it with friends, stole the idea, and made millions off of it, meanwhile the guy who'd actually put more time into it got jack shit.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

I wasn't being sarcastic either - it is funny to watch how far from grace it has fallen since then. It's almost to the point of promoting stalking behavior... which I'm sure is some sort of reflection on Zuckerberg's own personality.

Never been on face book but I'll agree with the point that these social networking sites seem to promote stalking behavior, I only go onto myspace to talk to old bandmates and shit, but there's always a freaking banner ad or a new application that says it will help me track down old school mates. I haven't seen those fuckers for like almost 8 years why do I want to track em down now?

I used to share both of your sentiments about social networking websites in general, and avoided them at all costs. Then I relized that they are only as lame as the person using it. I only have a myspace, and I'm never stalked or spammed. I merely talk with friends that I may not get to talk to as easily without it, and upload my artwork. Neat tool. I guess you can get all Kurt Cobainy and despise the fact that people outside of the social elite get to use your precious tool as well, but does it really matter? nope.
