So...what are you gonna spend your tax refunds on?
I got my State refund back today. I'm using it to get my kitten spayed and get her shots, plus to pay off my Federal taxes (I actually owe. Go fig).

I need to get some new socks and a pair of sneakers and a pair of boots for the summer. The rest I'm going to sit on and use for hanging out with friends and helping out with the house. Eventually, once my brother and I get our odd job business going a bit, I'll be throwing money into the business for anything we may need.

Well by the time I finally get mine, I'll probably be buying a shit ton of fucking diapers. And paying off the house. And socks.
Well, from most to least important I would say diapers first, then building my own arcade cabinet as a distant fifth.

I am just going to use it for expenses. I was going to get my car fixed, but the cost of it is more than I have, so my family covered it.

I usually don't get refunds, but this year I qualified for the First Time Homebuyer's Credit. Which ends up being a huge no-interest loan that the government is giving me almost two decades to pay off.
So, that's being used to payoff my surprisingly large tuition bill this semester, and a few pieces of technology, like the 8 gb Zune (shutup, I like their design). The rest is going in the bank, so that I can make a bunch of interest off it while I wait to pay the government back.
I've actually never bothered with mp3 players before, but it's great for things like the party I'm hosting tomorrow for my upcoming b-day. I can just plug it into my entertainment center and not worry about changing cds. It's just great having all my favorite albums easily accessible now. The screen might be too small for watching a lot of videos on it, but the picture is crystal clear.
I'm loving the touchpad on the latest generation of zunes, too. And the preloaded games aren't that bad either.

My sister should be putting towards an apartment, but she'll probably spend it all on Disney VHS movies, cheese puffs, and spagettios.

A curious question is just how much everyone else is getting back.
I'm getting back literally a penny shy of $4,000, and hopefully, since my wife's best friend's mother is a real estate agent, I'm hoping she can help me use that as a down payment on a house.
Or, just a bunch of DVD boxsets. I've fallen hard for the show Dexter...

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

$4,000? That makes me sad.
After subtracting my Federal payment, I'm taking in about $300

Sadly, my tax return was spent on vet bills keeping my cat alive. $2000 wasn't enough to save her unfortunately. God was kind enough to bring another cat into my life though. I hate to be a downer. I took in a stray at a bar of all places and he is the best cat ever. I miss my little girl though.

I'm getting about $300-$400, so if I want to be responsible, I'm going to put it down in my savings for my rent next year. If I want to be irresponsible, I'm either going to spend it on a new TV or to try to rebuild my CD collection that was stolen from me a while back.

If it makes you feel any better, I get that because I work full time, am also a full time student, and I have a wife (that DOESN'T WORK) and a baby. If my wife had even a part time job, it'd more than make up for that $4.000 right there. But, there is something gratifying about getting a ginormous check in the mail.

I got $400. Half in the bank, and finally bought my psychology textbook after only 3 months of class.
