I think Nintendo needs to either make an SNES compilation for the DS or allow us to load SNES games into the upcoming DSi. After all, the DS/DSi's button alignment is almost identical to the SNES controller's alignment; they even have the same buttons.

I just remembered something else, too. I remember when Nintendo did the NES series for the Game Boy Advance, where they ported NES games to the GBA. Nintendo definitely needs to do that for the DS.

I wonder if the accounts will be linked and allow you to play games on both systems that you have purchased.

I might buy Super Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island whenever they come along for the SNES Virtual Console, even though I already have both games on an actual cartridge.

In a way, the Wii is a half-assed universal Nintendo system. It has Wii games, backwards-compatibility for GCN games, and of course the predecessor consoles all on VC. Either way, I want Nintendo to develop a SD-card system for the DSi, so we can play SNES and maybe N64 games on it. The DSi has four times more RAM than the original DS, so it should be alright with with even playing N64 games that required the expansion pack like DK64.

Well, we already got Chrono Trigger DS, so that's a definite start.

Now, let's see some Zombies Ate My Neighbors, ActRaiser, Killer Instinct, or Lemmings...

If they actually did end up doing this, how much wanna bet they'd release another port of Street Fighter 2? Rolling Eyes

IMO that game sucks, its all about the original battletoads, the remake on Genesis, or Battlemaniacs on SNES.

Honestly, I found that game better than any of the Battletoads' games, and the music was superb on the SNES.

EDIT: I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I disliked Chrono Trigger because it bored the crap out of me.

Or you could just get a SNES emulator for your DSi.

But, there is no way that any company that has any system that is out and relevant to the masses be combined with another current system without epic lawsuits and the such.

This guy also made the Nintoaster (NES in a toaster) and Super Nintoaster (SNES in a toaster)

I know, of course the technology is there. But its going to take a lot of time (I said 20 years) before all company's titles can be found on one mega console, and it actually becomes much more profitable for the game companies.

The DSi can really do that? Crap, I just wanted one because I needed a new DS, my original model is looking kind of worn. Geez...I really want one now. I should pay more attention to those news letters Amazon keeps sending me...
