Hey guys! I was wondering what your favorite and least favorite Virtual Console games are. Just name the games and tell us a little bit about them:
I'll start it off:
Favorite: Sin & Punishment: Successor of the Earth (N64) - One of the first imports to hit the Virtual Console, this game became one of my favorites as soon as I downloaded it. The game play is addictive, the controls are smooth and the cutscenes are quite awesome. The characters are really awesome, too, especially Saki. My only complaint is that the game was kinda short. I can't wait for the Wii sequel for it.
Least Favorite: Break In (Turbografx-16) - Out of all the games I have downloaded so far, my least favorite would have to be this one. While it is an import, it is also an outdated virtual billiards game with awkward controls. I lost a lot of interest after playing this game once, too. In fact, other than Wii Play's billiards game, the only way you should play pool is on an actual pool table.

Least favorite: Sonic 1 for the master system. It had scrolling levels in it. You don't put scrolling levels in a Sonic game!

Favorite: Mega Man 9 - I know that's technically WiiWare, but I still love it like all the others, as any diehard fan would be expected to.
Least favorite: Secret Of Mana - I moved Ice Climber to the SD card in favor of this game. Since I'd beaten Final Fantasy Adventure, I figured my concience would be clear. How could I have known what I was in for? Retarded AI for the characters I don't control and struggling to get past the first few bosses actually made me appreciate Ice Climber a bit more. In short, a major step back from FFA. The game has recently been moved to the SD card in favor of Kirby's Dream Land 3. Again, I must ask: How did that game get twice as many votes as Metroid, or even get high enough so that it could?

I thought my life as a king was going to be more awesome Crystal Chronicles fair like the GCN game. I was dissapointed when I downloaded it and I wasn't, but I ended up enjoying it. It sort of reminds me of actraiser.

Really? REALLY!? While the computer controlled characters can sometimes be dumb, the bosses were to hard? Okay the first boss, you can't even lose to. The second boss is easy as hell if you wait til 100% to attack again. The Tiger is the only boss I can possibly see as being difficult, and even that boss is simple enough. Then the game takes a turn for the worse making the boss battles a complete joke by use of magic. IF ANYTHING, I could understand a gripe about how EASY the bosses were. You deserve a Mana Sword to the crotch, good sir.

Too many classics to choose a favorite.
Worst game I downloaded: Splatterhouse. Overhyped bullshit with clunky controls.

Favorite(s) - R-Type III: The Third Lightning, Gradius III, F-Zero X, Dynamite Headdy, Vectorman, Fatal Fury 2, and Bomberman 94 might join this if it's as good as Mega Bomberman.
Worst - None I've bought were anything really deserving of "worst".

I downloaded that at my brother's request. I've beaten it several times.

I downloaded it and rather liked it, though the second one is pretty much better.
Also, I would like to mention that the U.S. Turbografx-16 version was censored. If you played the arcade version, it would be a lot better.

I have all three of the games in various forms; the first two are, for the most part, generic side-scrollers with the only "innovation" being the gore/horror. The third one, on the contrary, is full of win; try that one out.

I have to agree with you on the Genesis port for Street Fighter 2, it's not even close to the Snes version.
My favorite: Toe Jam & Earl, I had never played it before until a couple weeks ago. I played it for hours, you got to love that co-op play.

There's actually an intense debate between gamers as to whether the Genesis or SNES ports of SF2 were better. It's basically:
GOOD GRAPHICS LOL vs. BLAST PROCESSING LOL

I always felt that the Genesis had better play control. This may have just been the controllers I had. The left trigger on the SNES was worthless for fighting games (for me). The 6 button layout on my Genesis controllers was amazing though.

Does it have to be for Wii? Because I've got some for the PS3
Favorite Download- Suikoden for the PS1, which I already have on CD but it's been scratched to hell and back. It's a good game
Worst Download- Pain... I thought it was going to be more of just running around and beating yourself to death... instead a slingshot? wtf...

This is true. Also, while the SNES versions were graphically better (of course), the move timings and overall pace of the fighting (even in SF2 Turbo) were altered to fit it's slow processor. It's why you hear people saying they suck at the arcade version while they can 1cc 8 stars in the port.

The 6 button setup wasn't standard though. Try playing a fighting game on a standard Genesis controller . Good fucking luck.

I'm sure they were cheap and easy to come by back them, even if they weren't standard.
Also, the 6-button controller became standard for the third model Genesis/Megadrive consoles.

The six-button setup was so damn awesome, that Sega pretty much re-used it for the Saturn(With shoulder buttons). Which is easily the best 2D fighter system in that era due to the extra ram allowing a better arcade port of Capcom stuff. Sega kinda always was the best when it came to that genre though, even the Dreamcast port of MvC2 was better than the PS2/Xbox games.

I think the PS2 port was better because that controller is perfect for fighting games. the shoulder buttons on the PS2 controller were way more responsive than the spring resistant triggers on the Dreamcast. Also the Xbox version was terrible, but only because of the terrible controller Xbox.

my favorite game on the wii would probably be.... shining force II or super metroid.
on xbox live it would probably be... geometry wars or braid
on my friends PS3 it would probably be... everyday shooter.
my least favorite would be flOw on the PS3. waste of cash and i was hungover when i bought/played it, so it gave me motion sickness.

favorite- either Sin and Punishment, or Mario's Super Picross (I just REALLY like Picross games, okay?)
Least favorite- I don't have a "Least favorite", because I've only bought good games (IE- games I know I like) on the Virtual Console, but if I had to pick one, Super Mario Brothers 3, but only because I found an NES with Mario 3 at a flea market for £5 the day after I bought it on Virtual Console. (my NES "went missing" in 2003, I think somebody sold it without asking "is it ok if I sell your posessions and expect you to not make a fuss about it?") So yeah, the fact I'd spent £3.50 for it on virtual console was redundant in less than 24 hours, thus why it's my least favorite.
