So, I just bought Metroid Primes 1 & 2 for like, 20 dollars. I'm having a blast with 1, and I was wondering about your opinions on the series. Also, any tips ould be appreciated, as I'm not very good with this new lock system.

Metroid Prime was great, but I feel as if people overrated it a bit. MP2 surely wasn't anyone's cup of tea, and in my opinion MP3 is the best one of all of them.

Stop shitting on 2. It was as good as the others. Sure, I haven't played it since I beat it, but I haven't played the others since I beat them, either.

I'm not shitting on it, I'm just saying I couldn't figure out what was goin on... I thought the first couple of segments where good, but it just seemed even more confusing then the original Metroid...

Why hasn't anybody mentioned Metroid Prime Hunters yet?

In MP, I did just about everything you could in Normal Mode and gave up in frustration at Hard Mode's Omega Pirate.
I skipped 2 and never played Hunters.
MP3 is in my backlog to be played.

I played Metroid Prime, but I have never played Metroid Prime 2. I have always had a problem with classic 2D games going 3D, but I honestly enjoyed MP for what it was and had fun playing it. Maybe I'm just over nostalgic, but I would rather those types of games be spin-offs rather than sequels. I will always enjoy the classic style Metroid games far more, so I know my opinion is biased. Metroid Prime is worth playing just the same.

I own all three.
1 . Best story and layout of items
2. Better graphics than 1, but a terrible story and game play was miserable.
3. Good story, best graphics, great control, very good layout
When the first one gets the new controls it will be amazing.

They added a light world / dark world type theme that was more frustrating than it was entertaining.
I always felt like I was working rather than playing a game.

I liked prime 2 a lot better. Aether/Dark Aether was fun and made you think. Sure it was a little obscure at times, but it wasn't bad at all.
There were many more boss fights in 2, most of them well designed. I played a little bit of 3, but didn't have time to finish it before my friend wanted his wii back.

I think that my only complaint about the series is that you need to press the fucking shoot button way too many times to kill a boss.
My hand usually hurts after a boss battle. I would have preferred the battles be shorter.

I feel that way a lot of the time when I play a game. That doesn't stop me from enjoying it, though. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes didn't stand out to me in this respect at all.

Damn!
Personally, I liked Sylux, especially since you could steal energy from your opponents.

I hate Hunters' controls, plus the online was broken as hell. Everyone always played as Trace, and if not Trace, then they play as Sylux.

Yeah? No shit!?
So are Far Cry, Half Life, Doom, Duke Nukem, Unreal, Quake, Golden Eye, Wolfenstein, America's Army, BioShock, Call of Duty, Halo, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Postal, Serious Sam, and Jedi Knight.
Yet for some reason, my hand doesn't feel like it is going to explode after playing any of those games.
It takes a retarded number of shots in Metroid to kill the bosses no matter what type of game you classify it as.
