I am not a huge fan of FFVII. I just really can't stand the transition that Cloud took into an Emo pussy.
But more to the point, my co-worker's text message ring tone is the Aeris music. Every time he gets a text, I get pissed off. Even more obnoxious is that this is the default ring on his phone and he had no idea what it was.

That would probably grate my nerves too man. I liked FFVII OK, I just don't find it to be an outstanding RPG by any means. I consider it probably the easiest RPG I ever beat for sure, and it's saying something when I would much rather play through Dragon Warrior 1 than pop in my VII disc's again.
But that's mostly because Dragon Warrior is fucking sweet.

Agreed. I'll try to get him to switch his ring tone to the noise when this happens:

What kind of phone did he get that would have that of all things as it's ringtone? Either way, I feel Nobuo what's-his-face as a composer to be rather overrated, I love Dancing Mad and whatnot, but not every single piece of music he makes is such a classic that it makes cats turn to gold and dogs into marble after they hear it. Gawd.

A friend I work with is always changing his ringtones to various video game related ones. For awhile he had the victory music from FF7 as his ringtone, then he changed it to the safe room music from RE 2. It's pretty funny.

I'm currently using the opening from NES narc for my main one, Zanac for my TXT and ZAMN for my sister (We beat that game together three times in a row in the same day)

My default tone is the original 8 bit SMB over world music, and it's freaking LOUD. So I use it as my alarm clock. Now that cheery tune that used to conjure up cherished memories of jumping on goombas and throwing fireballs conjures up memories of getting ready for work and the craptastic morning commute.

That's funny, I used to have the radio go off as my alarm every morning. I had it set for a station that played gong noises every morning at 6:00. I never bothered to change it, so for 9 months I woke up to gong noise.
As for ringtones, I just use the default pop song. Everything else sounds too generic and I'm not paying for ringtones. Maybe one day I'll make my ringtone that sound effect you get in Metal Gear Solid when somebody is contacting you by Codec.

You know what really whizes my cheese? That fact that a few years ago you could use the note to self recorder dealio to record any music you want, and select it as your ring tone.
Now that downloading all sorts of meaningless crap off the net to your phone is all the rage, they took the option to select recordings made with the dealio as ring tones away!
Yeah sure you can still record stuff, but if you want music as a ring tone you're gonna hafta pay.

I'm sure there are free ringtone makers on the internet.

Yeah but my point is they try to circumvent me expressing my creativity via wacky custom ring tones by altering the software on my phone. They are forcing me to submit to bland consumer culture fascism by making me pay up to two dollars for a ring tone I will soon tire of. I've had enough I'm seceding!

I don't have a cell phone, but I've always imagined that this would be my first ringtone.
Either that, or the save point music from Silent Hill 3.

I had the victory jingle as my ringtone for a while.
"Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it’s because they sat there that they were able to do it."
"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."
