So I know there're at least a few people on these forums that still play the games, and even 1 or 2 others that're considering getting Platinum when it comes out next month. So how about a tournament, maybe a month after Platinum's out?

Tournament Rules
1.) Full roster teams. Each player much have a 6 pokemon team.
2.) Double Battle Format.
3.) Level 50 All. Everything's nice and balanced.
4.) Item Clause. No two pokemon can hold the same item.
5.) Species Clause. No more than one pokemon of any specific kind in a team. The only exceptions I'll allow are different forms of Wormadam (each form has a different typing combo and learns different moves), Rotom (each of the appliance formes as well as the base form), and, if we agree on allowing Uber-tier pokemon, Deoxys.
6.) KO/Desperation Clause. No using suicide/sure kill moves like Destiny Bond on a final pokemon or Explosion with a final pokemon. Doing so results in a rematch against that opponent.
8.) Limited Hax Clause. Moves like Double Team or Minimize are banned, Accupressure is allowed since the high boost is to a random stat. Attacks, Abilities and Items that boost evasion/decrease an opponent's accuracy (Sand-Attack/Bright Powder/Snow Veil/etc.) are allowed.
9.) Sleep/Freeze Clause. If one of an opponent's pokemon is frozen/asleep, you cannot use a move to inflict either status to the other active pokemon. Freezing or putting to sleep a second pokemon is a rematch. (Both trainers must choose Run on their next turn and rebattle).
10.) OHKO Clause. Fissure, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Horn Drill are banned moves.

Actually you have 3 different pokemon with alternate formes.
1. Shaymin. In Platinum you can use a Gracidea Flower to turn it into its Grass/Flying "Sky Forme."
2. Giratina. Everyone knows about this one by now and its Origin Forme.
3. Rotom. Through a special wi-fi event you're given a key that opens up a room with 5 different appliances. Having Rotom with you and using the key on a particular device changes Rotom's forme and gives it a special move based on that form.
a. Fridge gives Blizzard
b. Washing Machine gives Hydro Pump
c. Lawn Mower gives Leaf Storm
d. Fan gives Air Slash
e. Oven gives Overheat

spehornoob, Platinum's not required for this, but I figure it's got enough stuff to add to the other 2 games that some people will want to take some time to make the modifications to their team and such. If you just want to stick to your Diamonrd or Pearl card, that's fine. Should I add you to the list?

Well, it turns out the Regigigas will be given away between March 8th to the 21st. Plenty of time to work a visit in if you want one.

Two questions:
A. Would you guys prefer single battles where it's just one pokemon against another at a time, or double battles? Personally, I'd like to run double battles.

So Platinum's come out, but I'm waiting until April 5th to get my DSi before I start things up. Long story short, I'm shooting to start this tournament at the beginning of May, if we just have 6 players than there'll be 2 byes.
