Whenever I hear "Feelgood comedy of the year," I automatically know that I do NOT want to see that movie.

What other phrases do you typically hear in movie trailers/ads/etc and how do they make you feel? I think this will be an interesting look into the psychology of movie ads.

When I hear that a movie is artistic I want to avoid it.

I hate when they say "Best Movie of (insert year)" when it's not even spring yet. Oh, yeah. Sure it's the best. Too bad there are still nine or ten months left in the year.

I also agree with "Feelgood Comedy of the Year" because the only thing you usually feel after watching it is disappointment.

I'm getting tired of anything that starts with In a world.....

This thread reminded me of the South Park Rob Schneider jokes

I agree with Will Ferrell, he's way too obnoxious for me to get any laughs from him.

A friend of mine and myself have a running joke about that. We think it is lame and overused so we use it when we see other at our jobs. Sometimes he'll come into the store where I work and we'll talk for a couple minutes. For example one day I was running the register and he came in to buy a couple things. I was like:

"In a world where one man rings up groceries..." Or there was a time we were at a bar and I was like "In a world where we drink shots."

"Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it’s because they sat there that they were able to do it."

"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."

I use it a lot to, because I do a pretty decent announcer voice.

"From the creators of Epic Movie and Superhero Movie" forces me to avoid seeing the movie at all costs.

Could not agree more. I forced myself to sit through, I think it was Scary Movie 2 because it had James Woods AND Tim Curry in it, and they're two of my favorite actors.

They must have owed someone some serious favors. Man oh man. Never again. (Although Wood's part was pretty damn funny, I have to admit.)

I just dislike anything that obviously takes itself too seriously. I mean, its okay to be a serious, even an important, movie if its handled the right way. But when you get too big for your britches...epic fail. Case in point:

Concept seems awesome enough, but I still haven't been able to bring myself to bump it to the top of my Netflix queue. Just too damn much.

Anything that refers to itself or its director as "visionary."
