Lol, I am somewhat of a late bloomer, have always been shy, never asked anyone out till the last couple of weeks, first one said no. Then today I decided to grow a pair and as another girl out, she said yes.

I forgot it was Valentines Day tomorrow and even though we are not formally boyfriend and girlfriend, I feel obligated to get her something if we have a date tomorrow. This is bad timing, I may not get anything out of this "relationship" as it has yet to develop but I may have to shell out cash I do not have already.

Add on the fact that I'm an absurd worrier, we are supposed to do something tomorrow or sunday but with no concrete plans I find myself worrying that we won't do anything and oodles of paranoid.

Fuck

Don't worry about it. Get her something simple.

This is VERY easy.

A box of chocolates with a red ribbon.

No card.

You hand it to her and say Happy Valentines day!

You smile and she smiles and well, there ya go!

Worst case scenario you just got a girl chocolate and she feels odd about it, but likes chocolate so she accepts and eats it.

Best case scenario, she has a rare condition which causes her to become instantly horny when she gets chocolate and she rips you away under the bleachers and has her way with you.

Somehow I think you'll find your place between those two scenarios.

Well if we do do something tomorrow, I'll have to make a stop and do that GP. I forgot about a box of chocalates, very simple and the women usually like it unless allergic.

Well in that case, she dies and you don't have to worry about feeling awkward around her anymore.

From my point of view, some flowers would be even better than chocolate. Here's why:

1. Since you aren't a couple or anything, they don't have to be fancy, or even roses (although roses = bonus points.) Just go to your local supermarket, get a small bouquet of different colored roses/other flowers for $10 or less.

2. Flowers are universal with girls. I am the biggest (straight) tomboy you will ever, ever run into, but even I;m a sucker for a nice bouquet of flowers. Hell, since its a first date you could even buy a single rose or whatever, and be totally in the clear.

3. Although I really, really like chocolate, I hate the fancy kinds that come in those nice boxes. When I want chocolate, I want a fucking Hershey bar, not fancy crap with stuff in it that gets in the way of...THE CHOCOLATE. Plus, if you aren't going to go expensive with the fancy stuff, chances are the quality will be pretty low.

Now, do bear in mind that this is just me (I have plenty of female friends who love those fancy chocolates. None who don't appreciate flowers though), so take it for what its worth. Just some food for thought.

And good luck! I hope she's cool, and that you have a great night tomorrow. Smile

I didn't know you were a girl lol.

I would do flowers but I don't know if I can get any, I don't drive yet and don't really have a ride anywhere and if we do get together, it will be in the afternoon so I won't have much time to bus around and get them.

I was thinking that chocolate has less meaning but is a sweet gesture (no pun intended).

Flowers are romantic, there is no other way to look at it.

So I consulted a girly girl... my wife.

Flowers are better, but NOT red roses. Yellow roses, mixed, or something pastelish.

She said that flowers are customary for a first date and are the appropriate gift.

A nice bouquet at a supermarket shop would be just fine.

Ah, VERY good call on the red roses = romance. I didn't think about it because I personally wouldn't read into it much if a guy gave me a red rose/roses, but I can see certain kinds of girls doing so. And since this is a first date, waaaay better to be safe than sorry.

And yeah, anex, I'm a girl lol. (The self-appointed Token Female, in fact Wink ). As for the problems getting the flowers, could you ask your parents, or whoever, to stop by a store and get you some? Any supermarket has them. Hell, on Valentine's, people will probably be selling them all over the place by the side of the road even. Just a thought. :/
