My overpowering male pheromones .
This movie is going to stink, but I'm still curious to check it. I just love wrecking my childhood. Well, I was like 12 when I saw it and had to watch it a friends house because my parents were strict on violence.
Dances with Wolves 2 is gonna ROCK!

Yeah, I guess I'm another chick, and indeed I was attracted by the overpowering male pheromones that I sensed surging from Sydlexia out into the far reaches of cyberspace....Like a moth to a flame, I surrendered to my primal urges, lol:)

Anything Freddy I gotta see just because I'm loyal to him;) I really liked that Halloween remake that was out recently. I liked that they really went into the whole Michael Myers as a child thing. I like getting more into the heads of these albeit, long franchised characters. If the new Freddy movie is like that, I think it would be worth watching......but then again if it's really Michael Bay making it, then it probably won"t be any of those things and I will end up hating it. Why Michael Bay!? WHY!?

The trailers for this look pretty good and honestly, Friday the 13th could use a reimagining. The quality of the F13 films went downhill REALLY fast after Part 2.
On the other hand, I don't know if I can take a Nightmare on Elm Street remake. I am a huge Robert Englund fan and I really don't think I'm ready to accept anyone else besides him as Freddy. Besides, hasn't Hollywood ruined enough Wes Craven properties? The Hills Have Eyes remake was terrible, and I haven't heard good things about the upcoming Last House On The Left remake either. And they're remaking Shocker too, which is completely ridiculous. Shocker is far too 80's-tastic to succeed in today's movie climate.
That's what we need, a movie made with 80's quality.
I'm not talking about style, I'm talking about the looks, the craptasticly "real" effects.

I don't know if this movie is going to be worth a shit or not, but I also thought the previews looked pretty good. It could be a trick, but I'll probably see it anyways.

A few notes:
A) They had fucking better not remake Shocker. Shocker is just simply too awesome to be touched. Any attempt to remake it will be akin to Sheryl Crow's "Sweet Child O' Mine" or Celine Dion's "Shook Me All Night Long."
B) As much as I love Freddy Krueger, I just plain liked Jason Voorhies more. Jason didn't need wisecracks to be awesome, he just needed a counselor dumb enough to climb in a sleeping bag and a tree to beat her against.
C) Even if this movie rapes my childhood, it can't do any worse than anything Rule 34.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

So thats the bitch that was ruining GnR when I went to albertsons last time. It fills me with so much anger it makes me want to derail a thread.
Friday the 13th doesn't need a remake, cause it sucked from the start. There, I said it.

It was done for the Big Daddy soundtrack and it used to actually make me blind with rage. I remember in 1999 when it first came out, I almost got myself and my friends kicked out of a Sam Goody because I started screaming at the store's music system when it began playing the song.
I am of the opinion that Jason should never run. He should slowly walk while his target is running at full speed. Then he should magically catch and disembowel them with his machete. I think I saw Jason running in the trailer. Made me sad.
This movie looks like it's taking itself too seriously, though. That's what it looks like from the trailer. I think it's gonna suck, but I still might go see it.

Do you like anything? Seriously? I tried a search of robotGumshoe and the words Awesome, good, cool. 0 Hits. They need to remake "My Bloody Valentine 3-D". It's been long enough right?

I think the only way to really ruin Friday the 13th is by taking itself too seriously. No matter how shitty the franchise got, it was no big deal because of what it was. I will say if that is the route they take and they pull it off it could be badass. But if they try to be too serious and botch it up, there should either quit or revert back to the old formula.

Yeah, it was Sheryl Crow. I'm more of a "Welcome to the Jungle" than "Sweet Child O' Mine" person, but I was still disturbed by the remake of the song. Did it really need a remake? Would it have really been that hard to get Axl to let you use the original? Considering, at the time, it probably would've cost more to get Sheryl Crow to do it.

I was over at IMDB and everyone who has seen it either says its asi asi or just one big pile of crap that does injustice to the franchise.F13 is my fav horror movie franchise and even I am not going to fall in the disapointment hole on this one, the last Saw was bad enough
From the trailor you can tell it pretty much is a big suck fest meant to bring you in based on the franchise name.
i found a quote that sums it up best
Quote:
It can't be repackaged today because the audience has radically changed too much. The original film in terms of its languid pacing, crude special effects and simple narrative structure can't be duplicated today. Also, the fact that the original film was shot on 35mm film stock while the new is shot digitally giving it an unnatural feel especially in the forest
its true and sad at the same time we can't get a good horror movie anymore because of how short attention spanned people are now.
i also found out Michael Bay was responsible for this film,so the following is very fitting

I watched it yesterday.... so so i guess. The story doesn't suck you in really, its just a super slasher flick with no thinking required whatsoever. I'm not going to ruin the ending for those of you who haven't seen it but i was severely disappointed. Trying to figure out who would die next or how they would die was entertaining. Oh, and theres titties

I don't really think you should have to think with a Friday the 13th. The idea is to watch teenagers taking part in the slasher flick "no-nos" while waiting for the next HOLY SHIT moment.
I really think the only way to fuck up a Friday the 13th is by trying too hard. If you just keep it simple and just try and be creative with the kills, it works out.

Wait, do you mean the Wes Craven flick with Mitch Pileggi? I saw that a few years ago, fucking loved it. Who would you cast in Pileggi's part though?
