Stop.

Just stop. For the love of the gods, stop.

About 3 years ago, when Wi-Fi and wireless networks were just taking off, you could find unsecured networks everywhere. I remember riding with a friend one day, and I was using his laptop and constantly doing connection scans and finding dozens of unsecure networks every mile or so.

Millions... and millions... and FUCKING MILLIONS of times. I'm hijacking wi-fi as I type this. I wouldn't do it only if I had my own internet connection, which I haven't had since October '07.

Also, if the network is unsecure, they're basically asking for it.

There's tons of places where you can hijack wifi. Our campus also was wifi, and a good number of motels and hotels as well as coffee shops and some restaurants also provide wifi. Otherwise you can always jack your neighbor's internet if you live in an apartment. It isn't hard to do if its unsecured, or if they are dumbasses and leave the default password.

I used my former best friend's Wi-Fi to download a crapload of pokemon on my DS.

I use my brother's DSL quite frequently to download various things (namely music and porn).

I alternate my Sydlexia posting between my mom's computer and my dad's computer; my mom gets irritable if I'm on the computer for too long.

I use the school computers (in secrecy) to e-mail song files to my friends, though my school has the majority of the websites I frequent blocked (most likely thanks to me), so it's not as though I can do much there.

hacker,

Is it an open network?

If so, your traffic is unencrypted and real hackers will hack you.

So, while this is spiraling uncontrollably into a legit thread, let me get a question in:

Just how legal is it to "borrow" another person's wireless connection?

I don't really think it is illegal at this point.

If you crack thier password to use it, then maybe there is a case.

However, if it is unsecured and you can access it from pubic property, or your own property, then then I don't see how it is any different from recieving radio airwaves with your stereo.

This is the most hilarious typo I've ever seen.

You mean your dick can't pick up WiFi too?

Maybe, it's just me. Wink

He hasn't hit that age yet. Give him a few more years and he will understand.
