yes but they are usually pretty short and don't take you away from the show I saw one where stewie just sang rocket man like william shatner almost the whole thing and I forgot what the show was even about and I still can't remember.. Cut aways are fine even the simpsons used them but they can't be the focus like the are in some family guy episodes. The star wars episode was great and very little cut aways.

The entire Star Wars episode was one big fantasy, that is why it didn't need additional ones.

True enough, I agree with Op that some of family guy cut aways are atrocious. I recall that exact FG you are talking about and I know what you mean about forgetting what the episode is about. Remember when Peter scores the touchdown and does that "shaboopie" dance or whatever? Lasted so long, I had no idea what was happening.

That one was the last straw for me with the show.

South Park is still wait and see. Jeebus and I discussed this in the feedback for his blog thread. I felt that the first half of last season was mostly good, but the second half was mostly bad. Jeebus said that the entire season sucked, and perhaps some of the immediately prior ones. We'll see what happens next season. The show has been able to ride several waves of quality and reinvent itself several times.
