So we're up to the 4th animated incarnation of X-men (counting "Pryde of the X-men"). I know the Canucks on this board have apparently been able to see this show since September, but us Americans can't see it until late January (on Nicktoons).

Here's the Plot Synopsis.

"After the mansion explodes, apparently due to an attack targeted at telepaths, Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey are missing. The X-Men disband and Cyclops begins to suffer from depression. One year later, the MRD (Mutant Response Division) is starting to detain mutants causing Wolverine and Beast to get the X-Men back together. Iceman, Shadowcat and Forge rejoin the team. Rogue joins up with the Brotherhood. The X-Mansion is rebuilt with Angel's wealth. Emma Frost is able to locate a comatose Charles on Genosha in the care of Magneto. On hearing this, Cyclops returns to the team and X-Men go to Genosha to find Professor X. After a short battle with Magneto, they are allowed to take Professor X back with them to the X-Mansion. Professor X contacts the X-Men telepathically from twenty years into the future and informs Wolverine that he is to lead the X-Men if they wish to successfully save the world from The Sentinel Project and prevent the Brotherhood of Mutants and the Acolytes from taking over the world before the future ends up being dominated by Sentinels."

Looking over the voice cast, I like some of them a lot, like Clancy Brown as Mr. Sinister.

Wasn't Gambit in the Brotherhood in X-Men: Evolution? Now Rogue's in the Brotherhood? Seems we've now gone full circle....

Looks good, but Wolverine's legs are too small and Nightcrawler looks kinda gay.

They managed to fuck up Cyclops, too.

...but then again, I was pretty much raised on the 90's X-Men series.

I like the coat. I've never been a fan of superheroes in tights and tights alone. Wolverine has shoulders that are way too big and legs that are too small.

Is that emma frost?

they're pretty much going with the astonishing outfits, which I personally hate. I don't understand why they felt that they had to give cyclops a trench coat. I think his 90's outfit with the exposed hair was the best though. the other outfits always made him look like a penis. big props on fixing beast up though.

Image

for the record, I really grew attached to the black movie outfits, as well as the made up ones based on the movie that they used for the mutant academy games.

I associate the trench too hard with Gambit for Cyclops to be rocking it. I am not a fan.

Those look horrid. But I am also completely biased from growing up on 90s X-Men.

Yeah, Gambit always needs more exposure. He was always my favorite when I was into the comics and the TV show in the 90s....and yeah, let me spread more of the love towards the 90s TV show.

some of the evolution outfits really sucked. wolverine's was so bad that they redesigned it midway through the series. jean grey's also strikes me as simply terrible. I liked cyclops and rogue though.

Summer's outfit isn't that terrible. The shit they had him wear pre X-Factor, Post Phoenix Saga when he was still in the original team in Uncanny, that was bad, as well as his giant X suit from X-Factor. Frost looks very similar to how she looks most of the time. Logan looks too damn tall. I think the best thing to fix Scott would be instead of the trench, his old tried and true leather bomber jacket.

Agreed, not bad at all. I also agree that iceman is a little weird. He should never have those human looking eyes when he is in his "ice mode".
