I don't really have any to decide between as of yet, but I have gotten to the point where I need a new laptop. I don't do desktops, so don't even pitch one. I get a discount at Dell and Lenovo from my employer but it can be from company.

Here are my limitations...
It needs to have atleast a 1GB Ram, 1.6GHz, and an 80 GB hard-drive.
My price range is under $1,000. And I really plan using this for programming needs as well as extracuricular activities (i.e. Porn, Sydlexia.com stuff, Porn)

Any recommendations? Places to go, sites to see, Links?

Did you say "programming"? *Weighs you down with over 9000 requests for game engines and dev tools*
Just messing with ya. Smile
You could buy an old IBM Thinkpad for like 300 dollars, find 1GB RAM and an 80+GB hard drive on ebay for various prices. Yes, IBM Thinkpads are connected to Lenovo somehow, so oyu still get the discount.

I'm looking for new. Call me dumb I just like knowing I'm the only one who has ever done anything with it. Kind of like my search for a virgin wife.

This is my mom's laptop, an HP DV6000 loaded with Vista.

2 GHz AMD Turion64 Core 2 Duo
160gb HD
2gb RAM
lightScribe drive
Lots of nice ports for everything

My only complaint is the integrated videocard by nVidia, because it's not very powerful. But it handles little stuff well, and runs everything I need well. I think my stepdad bought it refurbished for around 800 bucks. Good deal. I think you should buy refurb. if you want a pretty nice laptop with good specs. Suck it up.

I think he got it on ubid.com

I got my dell, 3 gigs of ram, 220 gigs of memory for around $500. Though not spectacular graphics. you could probably get something good along those lines from dell refurbished.
