Scary Movie 2 was the last great "Movie" movie imo. Scary Movie 3 would count if it wasn't too hit and miss. Scary Movie 4 was just terrible, and I sat through about 20 minutes of Date Movie and 15 minutes of Epic Movie before taking it out of my player and sending it back to Blockbuster.
I cut off on Saw after 3, and only liked the original Hostel.
A more recent example for me is Dan In Real Life, about 5 minutes in before me and my friend said "fuck that" and changed the channel.

Very true. I never even bothered seeing V in the theatre. Will probably buy it when it comes out though, just to be completist. I never buy horror movies because they're just mindless entertainment, but the Saw series at first was so good that I had to buy it.
As for Tom Goes to the Mayor, and it's "Awesome Show" spinoff, those two guys act like comedians trying to imitate Andy Kaufman's style, but failing miserably. I'm afraid that comedy in the 21st century has turned into random acts and absurdity, and I don't like it. To connect this with another current thread, I'd rather just watch Sam Kinnison scream about his wife or scream about Nam in "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield.

Hope I'm not committing too big a thread revival here...
I have a bizarre fascination with watching bad movies to see how truly awful they can get. Meet the Spartans was my recent target (made by the same fucks who brought us Date Movie, Epic Movie, and, most recently *shudder* Disaster Movie) My thoughts, posted from my Facebook, as well as a group entitled "Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer should not be allowed to create movies" (I'd advise joining it), are below. Hope I used enough ridiculous hyperbole:

As Polonius said, "brevity is the soul of wit", so I figured I'd keep my review fairly short:
I would rather chug the contents of a douchebag than watch this "movie" again. This is, by far, the worst movie I've ever seen in my 18 years of watching movies. It simply boggles my mind that any living, thinking human being would ever pay money for this cinematic abortion (for the record, I didn't, thank you torrents!). I also have no clue as to why DIEDRICH BADER, of all people, would agree to be in this filth. He must owe money to someone, and lots of it. I've never watched a movie that had me contemplating suicide midway through, but Meet the Spartans had me begging to be put out of my mercy within the first ten minutes. I suppose I should go into detail as to why it sucks, but anyone even vaguely familiar with the works of these two "directors" knows why: The constant and irrelevant pop-culture references, the never-ending gay/shit/dick jokes, and, most importantly, the lack of ANYTHING REMOTELY AMUSING! We get it, the Spartans are gay, can we get something new already? Sad thing is, I actually saw 300 after I watched Meet the Spartans, and it damn near ruined 300 for me! If you want a good parody movie, just check out Airplane!, or the works of Mel Brooks. Hell, watching marshmallows toasting would be more entertaining than this drivel. As a member of the movie-going public, and of the human race, I say: Fuck Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, fuck them up their stupid asses.
And anyone who catches the reference in the last sentence of the review gets instant cool points. If that was in Meet the Spartans, they would have boldly yelled where the reference came from, and had a GIGANTIC visual cue, just in case you missed it. Another reason why these movies suck. There's no subtlety.
I intend on watching Disaster Movie for the purpose of reviewing it fairly soon. If I don't blow my brains out midway through. Anyway, I don't want to waste any more of my Internet time on this, so until next time, Adios ya'll! |

Saw V. It was just...NOT good. I was underwhelmed, but I really don't know why I expected better; other than the first (and, arguably, the third) movie, the Saw movies have been incredibly disappointing.

I watched the entirety of Epic Movie to make my girlfriend at the time happy.
I think that's one of the reasons I turned gay.

By the way it sounds they really need to have something like the Surgeon General's warning on these kind movies.
