Thank god I have blinds in my room. I refuse to read that right now.

*shudder* Oh Jesus. I have them in my room thank God. We do have a kitchen window with blinds that are too high for me to close, so it stays open even at night. Its right in front of the sink and I hate, hate, hate, fucking HATE getting up to get water in the middle of the night. I'm not letting my head go too far there because I DO happen to be out of water at the moment and I'm thirsty, but...let's just say I keep my head fix-edly on the ground for the whole trip. Just in case.

On a similar note, I hate closets. I hated them before I read the Stephen King short story "The Boogeyman" (HIGHLY recommended, but not at night, but now I really can;t stand them. I'm okay if the door is shut, but the one time I let that slip and woke up in the dark and realized if was open...*shudder*

At least, I really, really HOPE I had forgotten to close it that time. Fuck. Shocked

Ok, I'm not reading that fucking article, there are no blinds infront of my sink, this half glass may have to last me the night.

Fuck all y'all.

See soldierhawk, even if I had guns it wouldn't help me with this shit because if they exist, bullets won't kill them, and you being a soldier won't particularily help. It's the fact that no one can really be safe from it that make my balls jump into my stomach. Fuck.

Haha, man all these threads have me freaked, what have I started Hawk? And the main question is how the fuck am I gonna sleep tonight?

I'm not a King fan really, although I have read over 5 or 6 of his books. But my favorite short story of his is the one where the kid takes the gun to school and kills his teacher, holds the class hostage, and by the end of the story all the other kids are rooting for him and on his side. Dark humor at it's best.

What's it called? Sounds up my alley.

My dad was watching this show and it was about entities, and I've heard about it other places where people would wake up and a demon or somehting would be like sitting on their chest making it really hard to breathe and shit. Scared me shitless for a few days as an 8 year old.

Sleep? I dunno about you all, but I'm pretty much resigned to posting here for the rest of the night at this point, lmao. It's good stuff though, Joshman. Seriously. I made the mistake of clicking the link. Looked for about two seconds, backed out. I'll check it tomorrow in the light of day. Tonight, not so much.

And yeah, I have to agree the scariest thing about ANY of this shit is the loss of control. A guy busting into my house is fucking scary, but I can deal with it. I'm trained to do that. A ghost, vampire, living dead? Best I can hope for is to go down swinging, and with not too much shit in my pants.

Here's one bit of comfort though: in 90% of the things I've read about ghosts, they are not malevolent entities. (Poltergeists are another story, but from what I've learned they seem to be a different phenomenon altogether.) Sure they scare people because they're unknown, and remind us of the Great Equalizer that comes down the pike for all of us...but most of them are just THERE. Sometimes they even help. Doesn't mean I want to meet one, but most don't seem to be out to get you. For what its worth.

Promise I'm not on drugs...my grandma comes just to see what's goin' on...I tell her my problems, and she watches over the house. I forgot to mention how my dog will stand at the top of the stairs and just bark. I have winding stairs, so he just barks at the wall...it's bizarre.

I totally believe, it Ross. Not all ghosts (or whatever you want to call them) are bad.

As I was typing, I just remembered an experience I forgot--and its a big one. I was on the Queen Mary, an old ship anchored in SoCal. Its a hotel and tourist attraction now, and haunted as fuck if what they say is true (and believe me it is.) There's this one part, way in the lower decks among all the pipes and stuff, where there is this door. Door number 13. One that has fallen shut on and killed no less than 7 people in its lifetime. Now, its obviously welded open now and barred with steel so it can't happen again, but its still freaky. So my friends and I went through, oohed and aaahed over it, and headed back up the stairs and out into the main lobby by the gangplank. It was at that point I realized that I *hadn't taken a picture* of that famous door. I really wanted to go back, but my friends refused--they had been freaked out down there, plus it was near closing times and, if we weren't the only ones on the ship at that point, it felt like it (its a big ass ship lol.) Well long story short, in a fit of either insanity or ginormous balls I didn't know I had, I said, "alright fine, Wait here, I'll go get the picture myself.

Let's recap briefly.

Clearly haunted ship, pretty empty, getting dark, lower bowels of said ship full of steam pipes, boilers, shadows. And I'm going through by myself to get a picture of a murderous door, so far into the ship that even if I *did* get into trouble for whatever reason, no one would hear me.

Not my brightest moment.

Now, all that drama set, the trip wasn't as eventful as it could have been. It wasn't pitch black or anything (dim, but plenty of florescent lights and shit.) I heard a few loud bangs while I was there, but that could easily have been the staff working on the ship. However, I did have footsteps following me nearly the entire trip. It wasn't the classic "they stopped when I stopped" but it was a little creepy. Okay, it was fucking insanely frightening, but oddly I wasn't really afraid at the time. It was more like, 'oh...there's something here with me. Either its friendly or its not, and if its not, there's nothing I can do about it.' I actually talked out loud to the thing, too. "Hey...I know you're here, and I know you know I'm here, but its okay. We're gonna be cool. I'm just here to get my picture, and then I'll leave, okay? I finally got to the door, said, "alright...gonna take the picture...everybody in it who wants in" and took the snapshot, went through the door, through the rest of the area, and back up the exit stairs to my friends (who were thoroughly freaked at this point.) Whatever it was didn't follow me passed the walkway to the stairs. Anyway, I never felt threatened, but it was definitely there. God, I can't believe I forgot that one. Way better than my "might be a UFO" anecdote.

Anyway, the story wouldn't be complete without this...Watertight Door #13:

Every bedroom in every house / apartment I've ever lived in is always freezing cold, you can see you breath in my current bed room. Turning on the heat affects every other room but the bedroom. Confused

I've been scared ever since accidentally stumbling on a screamer when I was five. So.. yeah.

Once, there was a flash next to me when I was in the dining room. Like someone took a camera picture of me or something. I WAS FUCKING FREAKED OUT. It turned out to be a lightbulb dying.

For weeks I've been bothered by this low beeing noise. It was creepy, but it turned out to be my neighbor's telephone.

I've had a couple instances of sleep paralysis, which pretty much a paranormal experience, but the most scary time happened in my first year of University. I was sleeping on the bottom bunk (which was in an L shape with the upper bunk) and I woke up to see a translucent blue woman looking down at me from the side of my bed. I freaked and pulled the covers over my head. I waited a second, peeked out form underneath and saw her walk past the foot of my bed and through the wall.

Though after I told my roommate, he was too afraid to look over the railing of his bed anymore.

I've had many instances of sleep paralysis. But as far as I can remember, I don't think it has ever been accompanied by the hallucinations. Talk about severe panic. It only happens when I'm sleeping on my back. It's kind of cool afterwards. It's like the rush you get waking up from a real vivid nightmare. But its never fun when it's actually happening.

Another thing that happens rather frequently when I sleep on my back is a spider slowly dropping down from directly above me. Every single time, I jump up and fly off the bed, flip on the light and look for the spider. I always wake my wife up and she gets so pissed. There is never a real spider. It happens a lot, but only when I sleep on my back.

Something else related to dreams. My dad can't sleep in a bed when the sheets are tucked. Anytime he does, he always has the exact same dream that he is in a stagecoach going over a cliff. He only has the dream when the sheets are tucked.

When I was really little I remember waking up one night and seeing a black shadow on my windowsill that was kind of shaped like a cat. The thing was pure black and had bright red eyes. I just remember screaming and my Mom coming in to see what happened and it wasn't there anymore. She says all I could say was "Scary squirrel, scary squirrel."

I have never had a paranormal experience but both my mother and my aunt have had quite a few between the two of them.

First one my mother had with my aunt and my grandparents. They were driving from Miles City, Montana to Billings and it was relatively late at night, around 10 or 11pm. If you have ever driven through Montana, you would know, when you are driving at night it is pitch black save for what your head lights see, you literally can't see a thing to the left or right of the car.

Well, anyways, my grandfather who was driving noticed a light up in the sky and a then a couple of minutes later they noticed a light up on the road in the distance. As they got closer to the lights in the road they noticed it was 3 other cars parked on the side of the road where people had gotten out to look at a UFO flying overhead. It stuck around for a good ten to fifteen minutes then swooshed off into the distance. The next day a picture of it was on the front page of the Billings Gazette, the same object Apparently appeared over Colorado and Idaho at around the same time. My grandparents still have that newspaper.

The second one my mother had was an encounter with the "ghost" of my great grandmother. I was only 3 years old when she died but she absolutely adored me, as I was the first grandchild in the family. Almost every picture I see of her she is carrying me around. Anyways my mother was going through some major issues with my dad, and was living with me in a small house in Miles City about 3 miles from where my grandparents lived with my great grandmother. My mother was very concerned about having to raise a kid on her own ect. and would often talk about it with them. Well she fell asleep that night and had a dream where my great grandmother was sitting in the living room and in my mothers dream my great grandmother told my mother that she came to say goodbye, that she loved her very much and wanted her to know that everything was going to be ok. My mother woke up to a phone call at around 5:30 that next morning saying that my great grandmother had died.

Last story for now and this ones pretty cool, these events take place over a number of years. My aunt lived in a fancy old house in San Diego that was haunted. My aunt and her husband are both electrical engineers and are not prone to superstition. They have 2 kids and around the time that the first instance of strange activity their oldest kid Chris was 6 or 7 years old. My aunt had heard foot step like noises coming from the third floor of the house a few times when nobody was home. She had embarrassed to tell my uncle about the noises until when, finally she did, he just sort of blew her off and told her she was crazy.

Then one night her husband Dan and their son Chris where sitting in the living room watching TV when my uncle had fallen asleep. He is notorious for zoning out in front of the TV after work and frequently falls asleep in the lazy boy. He awoke to the noise of someone walking around up on the third floor and reacted by yelling, "Chris I told NOT to play in attic!". Chris was, in reality, sitting directly to the left of him on the coach respondend, "that's not me dad" . Apparently this spooked Danny and Chris out so much that they spent nearly 4 hours at the Stone Cold ice cream shop at the strip mall down the street until they knew that my aunt would be back home.

Then something else started happening, my aunt came home from work one day and opened the door to her house and saw a picture laying on the floor in the hallway perfectly square to the walls. It was aerial picture of a world war II era aircraft carrier with absolutely no planes, people, equipment or even call numbers on it, the back of the picture was blank and it was very old. She asked if anyone knew anything about it or where it came from and even went so far as to ask her neighbors about it before placing it in a desk drawer.

Then a few months later she was in the kitchen with her kids when her daughter was pouring some cereal and the picture came out of the box. She checked the drawer and the picture was still in the drawer. Turns out it was a similar picture, but the one that came from the cereal box was a closer shot and you could see a shadowy spec of a person standing in the middle of the picture. A year later one came in the mail box. A third picture, this one a little closer. They ended up framing the pictures together and hung them up in the entry way. The frame would frequently fall off the wall. They ended up fastening it to the wall with small nails before that house burned down in the San Diego fires last summer. I have seen the pictures myself, I saw two of them, before the third one appeared. It's quite creepy.

there are more stories than that but my hands hurt.

Look up the Hornet Spook Light. It's only about an hour from where I grew up. It was even on Unsolved Mysteries. I've been there several times but never really saw anything.

My hometown was also on Unsolved Mysteries for an unmarked grave.

This is a good thread to put some random paranormal news, though I really have nothing to report presonally regarding it. I have a big interest in the area. Firs,t the black eyed entities mentioned earlier:
