First Criminal Intent's Season 8 was supposed to start in October... then January... now it'll start at some point during the summer. Apparently Jeff Goldblum has been terrible in the footage filmed, thus delaying the season by 8-10 months. Bring back Chris Noth for Season 9!

I love that scene.
And, how could Goldblum suck? He only has one character! (The smart guy who rambles on and on about shit.) If that wasn't the character they wanted for the show, then they shouldn't have hired him.

I think it was probably the writers' fault. Jeff Goldblum was essentially hired to be Bobby Goren Lite, but they have separate writing teams for the two different sets of CI detectives. The team who had been writing for Noth probably didn't understand how to write for a weirdo character.

I'm glad I watch the reruns and don't worry about new episodes when they premiere. I had a bad feeling about this.

Had to post it. Damn you, Jeebus!
Fun fact: The guy leading the seminar (Tom Kenny) does the voice of Spongebob.

Jeff Goldblum can't be a cop, he's a murderer! He was one of the young hooligans who killed Charles Bronson's wife!

Too bad Bronson is dead. They could have a crossover. The team could be trying to catch The Vigilante. End the end, they would find out that Goldblum is responsible for the murder of Kersey's wife and they will talk Kersey out of killing him, and then lock Goldblum up. In the end, they let Kersey go because he did the right thing, and because he is pushing 90, and well, because Kersey always gets away with it.

Or even better, Bronson could have taken over as the new detective after Goldblum's character was jailed. You thought Stabler was hard on suspects, wait until Charles Bronson blows a murderer through a precinct window with a rocket launcher!

Personally, I'd rather see Dirty Harry on Law & Order.

That too, they should just replace all the regular actors with aging action stars. Stallone huffing and puffing to keep up junkies, Seagal fake kung fu'ing mob hitmen...

Good, I hope it's cancelled. More time devoted to SVU. I'm sorry, I just can't stand any chaaracter on CI, especially Vincent D'onofrio's.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Vincent Donofrio is AWFUL on Criminal Intent, but that makes the show fun to watch. Same thing with Caruso and CSI: Miami.

Regardless of whether or not Caruso is a good actor, I enjoy CSI: Miami far more than the original and slightly more than New York. So he's doing his job.

Caruso fucked Caruso. He did a solid job on the first season of NYPD Blue. He thought he was better than the show and went to Hollywood to make movies. His movies were garbage and Jimmy Smits completely eclipsed Caruso's John Kelly character so he was easily forgotten my people watching the show.
A lot of people know he is difficult to work with. Normally, that doesn't matter to most people if he would have become a good actor or have a good body of work. But until Miami, he was kind of a joke. Allegedly, he wants treated like an A-lister when he isn't even close to that status.
I don't know what his attitude is like now. He seems to be doing well with Miami, even if he has ripped off Captain Kirk's speach patterns. I like Miami, and I don't mind Caruso, but I can't take him seriously. The pinnacle for me was when he was in the SUV with the bomb and he had to drive it to a remote locations and get the hell out. Instead of running for cover, he casually walks away while the car explodes like he was an action hero or some such shit. I love CSI: Miami, but I do take Caruso's character with a grain of salt.
