I just got called for jury duty in a couple weeks. Now I have no real problem going but I have class tuesday and thursday and work on monday and friday. Anyone know what the rules are with this?

In California, you are required to call in the sunday before your scheduled to come in. If you don't call in, they cannot prove that you received your notice, so your not technically required to show up. Or you can send in for an extension if you have school.

Just show up on the first day and make a bunch of racist comments. They'll let you go home pretty fast.

I just got called myself...unfortunately, I've postponed this before so they won't let me do it again. Oh well.
In CA, you're also allowed to report anytime two weeks before your date, or up to two weeks after. My strategy is to show up the Thursday of a three day weekend that starts on Friday. Usually no one wants to start a new trial then.

Optimist, I am pretty sure that on your form you probably meet one of the disqualifications. Fill it out honestly and you'll be all set.

Well thank you. Honestly if it wasn't for school I would be all up for it, I make shit ass pay as it is so I wouldn't be missing much money. And I like to sit on my ass and watch court tv, it can't be much different.

I've been called to jury duty three times and got exempted from every one. Unfortunately I don't remember what exactly I replied with to get out of it.
My step dad seriously has the worst luck with that stuff. He's always getting the notices in the mail and he usually goes, haha.
