How long until we see a resolution passed which declares that Obama must have at least three well known people fellating him at any given time?
I give it three weeks.
Seriously, though, that's a stupid thing,

Who has ever said that? I've never met anyone who's made this argument. Yeah, maybe making stupid racist jokes (like some of my former coworker's) while saying it is racist, I've never been in on a conversation that goes like:
"Well, I think Obama's policies send too much money towards-"
-"OH GOD YOU BIGOT"
Though, yeah there are a lot of people who are blindly following him, I don't really give a damn. If they want to toss their weight behind a hero, what makes him worse than some sports star, actor, or musician. If they blindly follow when he's obviously making an overall wrong choice, then I'll be bothered, but I can only argue with them to see a light, not command them to stop because I disagree. |
I know some people that have been unfairly labeled. IF they yelled OMG YOU BIGOT etc then open discussions could ensue and maybe people would pull their heads out of their ass. As it stands, the accusers in question don't say anything to the person in question, rather talk about it behind their back.

I'm pretty sure this has been said, but while I did vote for Obama and generally approve of his action thus far, this deifying that he's undergone is annoying, especially if it's done by people who don't know jack about politics. If I hear "Change" one more time, I'm gonna snap. I am curious as to how he'll campaign in four years? Maybe he'll do like what I saw in a Cracked photoshop contest, and have the same poster he's had, but have "SAME" on it. Who knows.
As for the comic, I read one page, then was like "fuck this, I'd rather go play Guitar Hero.' So I did.

The flip side of this of course is that some people are *already* getting frustrated with Obama not changing the country overnight. He's been in office for 8 full days, and getting judged already?
Seriously. I was listening to NPR on the way home, and I hear this reporter go [paraphrase] "...so the Obama bailout bill passed in the House, but none of the Republicans voted for it. He claimed he was going to being bipartisianship to Washington, and he has failed."
God that irritates me. The man made a near-unprecedented trip to Capitol Hill to speak mostly with Republicans. He's reaching out a hand, even if he didn't succeed in changing anyone's mind. Regardless, like I said, it's been *eight fucking days.* Lay off the halo, but lay off the unreasonable expectations too.
These parties have been at each other's throats for so long its gonna take a while to smooth things over. In the same broadcast I hear the anchor go, "yeah, so the bill passed in the House, but there might be enough votes in the Senate for a Republican block." And I started thinking, when did this turn into a football game? How about the media actually discusses THE BILL and whether ITS A GOOD IDEA, instead of acting like there's gonna be a score at the end? Ultimately they (and we) are all working for the same thing, but you sure as hell wouldn't know it to watch the news.

Yeah, I even think the first 100 days thing is too short for any president. It takes a year at least for certain aspects of legislation to even be put into full swing.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Back when Hillary was in the run, I told my nana that I didn't honestly see her winning because she seemed a bit flaky to me on some issues. My nana's responce was "Don't to be a chauvenist."
