I was thinking about this, since this game was so deep in how it figured things out. "Doom" fully heals undead targets, but what happens if you cast it on your character after their hit by an enemy's Zombie spell? If Fenix Down logic works one way, it should work the other too.

As for Cyan, probably unique, but Christmas rolls around before he does any meaningful attack. The vast majority of the enemy party or boss is often killed before he's finally ready to do anything.

The problem with Cyan is that his equipment sucks. His defense is garbage. You can speed up his sword-tech with Quick. But you don't get that until late in the game if you even choose to get it. Odin is the only Esper to give you +1 Seed. So after you have maxed out Vigor or Magic Power for your characters, increasing their speed helps across the board with all of your characters. I guess a badass Cyan is alright for the first time through. But then you start wondering what the hell you have your other characters for.

Also overrated is Locke with the Genji Glove/Offering combo with the Attma Weapon/Valiant Knife combo. I know he can do around 80,000 per turn. But that is with near maxed levels when it doesn't matter anymore anyways.

Once you have the marvel shoes, nothing else matters. You are invincible.

How do I get Tritoch? I heard you have to fight it first, but I can't initiate combat with it.

Also, where are these Marvel shoes?

You have to wait until the World of Ruin to fight and gain it.

Well when I got Chrono Trigger, this game had to be put aside. But since then, I'm in the world of Ruin, and have Sabin, Edga, Terra, Cyan, Shadow, Setzer and Moog.

I'm feeling cocky enough to just level grind to 40 and get Locke with those guys. The maximum amount you can have is 8 anyway, fuck that stupid Gau bastard.

I haven't played the game in a long while, but I remember being completely engrossed in it. The Mimic dude (girl?) rocked my socks.

Gogo, some fanon states that it may or may not actually be that woman from Setzer's past since I think you meet the Zone Eater around the same area that you get her ship.

Man, I'm totally enamored with Final Fantasy VI. It wasn't my first FF (the honors for that one go to IV) but this one was completely engrossing. I remember I had a subscription to Gamepro at the time before it came out and damn if I didn't jizz myself when I saw their previews for it. I was so obsessed with this game that when I wasn't playing it, I broke out the strategy guide and read it over and over again like some novel with the number 23 in it.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Got Locke this afternoon with just 8 dudes. I'll probably get Relm and Strago and that will be my cutoff point. What's a decent level to be in before taking out Kefka?

I think the minimum area is around 60, but it's probably much lower. I'm a grinder who likes to overpower so I'll usually be higher anyway. Plus I like getting one character to 99 before the Final Battle Very Happy Make sure Life 3 can be cast by more than 1 caster too. You may find ourself needing it, or wishing you had it with more than one character.

There is a speedrun on youtube that beats the game with all of the characters around level 17.

Basically, if you have Setzer and Gogo in critical, you can pretty much rule ass at the end and not have to be at a very high level.
