I always hated Hades at the end of Battle of Olympus. I could never fucking beat him when I was a kid.
Oh, and does the road on Rad Racer count? FUCK that game.

Rad Racer was ok until you got to sections where there are signs on the sides of the road. That's bullshit. I always slide off the road and I don't need any obstacles in my way.

If we're going with non-Nintendo made NES games, the end boss of the Guardian Legend is pretty high up there for me. Otherwise I'd definitely backup Tabuu or Tyson for the title.

The Yellow Devil from Mega Man is tough; you always have to think one step ahead...like a carpenter...that builds stairs.
The classic Donkey Kong gets really hard after a while. Wait, that doesn't sound right.

Good call on Yellow Devil. He was much easier in MM3 when you could slide.
And for non-Nintendo bosses, Day 3 Jason from Friday The 13th.

Good call as well.
Also, some of the Bowser bridges in SMB2J are pretty ridiculous if you're small Mario.

Yellow Devil is easy in Mega Man 1. The yellow pieces always move the same way.

Well, that's the whole point! Once you know Tyson or the Yellow Devil, you can beat them. I submit that Yellow Devil is at least as hard as Tyson; you don't initially know what either is gonna do. You won't beat Tyson on the first try and you won't beat Yellow Devil on the first try. If anything, Yellow Devil is tougher on the first try because you find yourself in an empty room and he flies in out of nowhere.

Maybe you guys will frown upon me for this, but I never had trouble with the Yellow Devil in the original Mega Man. Maybe because even back then I knew about the pause/unpause trick.
Man, the toughest boss ever was Medusa in Kid Icarus :joke

No, that's a good point; I didn't think about the--well, it's not cheating, but--pause/unpause trick. You can't pause in Punch Out!! I guess that does make Tyson harder. Touche.

Yea, this.
I tried out that Punch-Out code and it starts you at Tyson.

Wow, best cell number ever. How did you let that one go...but more importantly you need to get it back.

Not even a boss, but I still hate the fucking Eggplant Wizard.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

Since someone mentioned Metroid Prime, I will state that the Ridley fight near the end of the first one was a pain in the ass for me because I couldn't get the timing (or the strafing jump) down often enough. And I just gave up trying to beat the Super(Omega?) Space Pirate on Hard Mode, the one with the armor and periodic assists by the different-colored normal pirates.

This. It seemed like he could get in six or seven hits in the course of maybe 1.5 seconds, and he IMMEDIATELY charged you once your dodge animation was over, so it was basically like dodging was pointless.
