Umm... I am super good at lying. I do it a lot. I even beat a lie detector twice. Which isn't impossible I know, but it is pretty cool.
I am pretty good at taking tests too. I don't study or read the book and I hardly pay attention in any of my classes. And since I can remember, I've never gotten lower than a B for a test that I actually showed up for. That has come in handy quite a bit.

I take to card gams VERY quickly. I think this is an acquired talent. I aim to be a mix of Daniel Negreanu and Sammy Farha in all card games I play.

Now THAT'S a set of talents that would come in handy. How the heck do you beat a lie detector? I've heard its possible too, but I didn't know it was possible *consciously.* Are you just really good at controlling your reactions or something?

I've heard it helps to hold your breath, but I got that from a Beavis and Butthead episode so I can't say how useful that advice would be.

It is hard to explain. I just start lying. And it sounds exactly like something I would say, my mannerisms and everything. And with the lie detector, I was supposed to set it off. It was a demonstration thing at school. I guess it has something to do with my fucked up heart beat maybe? I'd figure it'd set it off more but...
It was kind of funny. I was trying to get it to show as a lie when I said "I'm a pretty girl." And it said truth. I had to look at the guy and say "I am NOT a pretty girl"

Test thing came in handy for the ACTs. Got me plenty of money for scholarships

Supposedly it's possible to beat a lie detector if you personally believe that what you're saying is not a lie. Lies are detectible to, um, detectors, because when you lie, you know it. You're consciously making a false statement, and even minute changes in the body caused by lying set it off.

However, let's assume that you're retarded, and you learned that the color 'blue' is called 'yellow'. A man hooks you up to a lie dectector and asks you what color the sky is. You reply "Yellow" and the machine calls it truthful. Is it wrong? Yes. But are you really lying? No.

By the way, my talent is along the lines of lying, but specifically in regards to deadlines and assignments in college. I never get them done quite on time, but I can sure bullshit my way into getting them turned in late and graded without penalty somehow.

I had at least 3 random people on MSN tricked into thinking I was a girl. I phished one of them and was messing with his friends a little. (NO I'm not giving you that E-Mail). The only 2 times my cover was busted was when I tried tricking one of my friends and he was sending me pics and e-mail addresses and when I got my cover blown by that Vinny guy on gamewinners forums.

I think current Lie Detectors are only based on a few factors. Like breathing, heart rate, and something else. ot an exact science. Anyone keeping hteir cool, theoretically, could beat the lie detector. This is because they dect the symptoms of a lie, not the cause.

I have a really excellent grasp of the human language. So much so that it's the only reason I kicked ass in high school. I can bullshit an essay like a fucking CHAMP. Seriously, 1000 word on the importance of some stupid literary device? Not a fucking problem.

And when I hit University level 2000 word Art History pages...I'd score B's on 1,200 words. Cool

It's not even an unexact science. It's pseudo-science. The accuracy of polygraphs lies barely above pure chance. The results are a lot more dependent on the interpretation of the examiner than the actual data. There's nothing objective and reliable about the test, which is why in most places of the world, it's not admissable as evidence in a court. The only use it has is in investigations as a psychological trick: before the interview begins you are purposefully lied to about the effectiveness of the test. A lot of people then break down during the interview and confess, because they think they will be caught anyway. If you know how the detector works and the interrogation techniques that are going to be used, beating a lie detector isn't hard.
