For my first post on the site, here are some places for speedruns. Some of you probably know them but here they are anyway :

http://speeddemosarchive.com/

Those were made on a console, not an emulator. Super Mario 64 runs look really good.

http://tasvideos.org/

TAS videos are fun to watch because you can see all sorts of glitches without having to try them yourself.

If you know any other you can post them but I'm too lazy to search for them right now.

About the speedruns sites in my previous post:

some of them take a lot of space in the computer. Example, a Zelda OoT in 5 hours takes 1,2 Gb in normal quality (on the first link in my post). There are segmented runs, divided in parts, so in those you could watch boss fights only if you want. One of the runs has 106 segments and you must download them all separatly to see the entire run. Now just to show how some runs are great:

SMB1 in 0:05:05
Zelda OoT in 4:57:xx
SM 64 120 stars 0 deaths in 2:09:42

The test run of the SM 64 TAS was done in 2:10:xx

All three are single-segment, meaning they did it in one sitting, so if they screw up at the end they have to restart.

After seeing the SM 64 run (SM 64 is great), I tried to go as fast as the guy. It took me 30 minutes and 10 lives to get a star he got in 60 seconds Embarrassed

There's a Mario 64 speedrun where the guy exploits some glitches and beats the game in like 20 minutes.

I tried to do an No Save RE 4 Speedrun, wound up dying on the last QTE sequence of the lazer chamber and was pretty much motionless for about 2 minutes from the loss of all that work.

I remember that one. That was good stuff.

A personal favorite of mine is the sub-11 min. Super Mario 3 speedrun.

Another good one:

Pay close attention to 5-1, and make sure you have the sound turned on. Great stuff. Smile
The author of that video has a whole bunch of other Tool Assisted speedruns up there.

If you're a fan of Monkey Island 2, this is a fantastic way to spend two and a half hours:
