I can't tell if I like it not, seems to be lacking something. And the simlish gibberish your advisers speak is downright annoying.

So.. I have to ask:
Have you played other Civs? (Esp. Civ 4) Do you like them?
I find that it's pretty true to the PC games, if you take into account it's designed to be played in a few hours instead of a couple days.

Civ:Rev is great on the DS. It's a little more stripped down from the PS3/X360 versions, but it plays great and is a fun Strategy game that you can play a round of in 1 - 3 hours.

Yeah I loved the first one, I think it's the length that I'm not liking, Softnum is right you can power through it pretty fast.

Never played this one, though I did play Civs 3 and 4, as well as the old classic Test of Time. 4 is quite fun for me, especially the online gameplay. Test of Time was my big favorite, simply because you could also play in fantasy and sci-fi settings.
Revolutions sounds pretty good, though. Sounds like its a simpler version of the game, I'm not sure.

I liked the Xbox 360 version. It is a cut down version but it is still pretty fun and is designed to take less time than the PC versions.

Maybe amping up the difficulty will give me a longer play through.

Haven't even bought civ4 yet. Haven't been that enthused about it. Once a version of it comes bundled with all the expansions I'll probably buy it though....

CIV4 is one of my all time favorite games. It sort of recapured the ease of use of the first 2 games for me. I don't knwo if anyone else remember but for a while activision owned the liscence to this property and produced from pretty ho-hum games.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo! |

I can't imagine playing Civ on a 360 or PS3. You really need a mouse for that game. I could see it *maybe* working on a DS or Wii, but those still don't quite offer the functionality a mouse does.

Civ:Rev works pretty well on the 360, actually. The maps are significantly smaller, for one.
I find that CiV:Rev makes city specialization much more important. And you don't have huge stacks of units. I do like the 'army' mechanic, cuts down on individual unit orders, but it's also sort of horrible, since more or less you have to create armies of things to do anything with anything.

My friend has Civ: Rev on the 360, fun stuff, and quick too, unlike Civ3 which lost my interest over it's length. I can only imagine if I had Play The World...
That said: 4 > Rev > 1 > 3 > 2.
