Hey, guys. I was wondering if you guys have ever watched any of the CSI shows, whether you did so on CBS or some of the reruns on Spike Television. If you did, which of the franchises do you like the most, if you liked one of them more than the others?

Although I like them all the same, I have to say I really like CSI: New York. I like Gary Sinise and how his character acts toward Carmine Giovinazzo's.

I always thought NCIS counted as part of the franchise.

Vegas is the only one I can really get into to, and love.

To be fair, I haven't given NY a try yet.

Miami, is damn near unwatchable thanks to the lead. Mr. "Always Removes Sunglasses and Says a Crappy One-Liner"

Oh, you mean David Caruso, right? I think he's cool, but my sister had this theory about that show.

Her theory about the catchphrases and their episodes is that the writers of the show have a hat full of random catchphrases and that they pull one out of the hat. They would then write the entire episode off of the catchphrase that is pulled out of the hat.

Miami was awesome when Horatio and Eric went vigilante. Other than that, not so much.

I used to like CSI when it first started. It got stale for me relatively quick, so I voted none. I don't watch it at all any more.

Oh yeah, and...

I voted "I like none of them..."

but I would have voted the following if it was an option:

"I like none of them, especially the one with David Caruso because he is a giant douche bag."

He is his character is even more of a cunt than Vincent D'Onofrio's Character on Criminal Intent and apparently a giant ass hole in real life too.

The only Crime drama show I every really watched was NYPD: Blue, which is one of my all time favorite shows. NYPD Blue has the greatest TV cop in the history of TV cops with Det. Andy Sipowicz played by Dennis Franz. That dude was hardcore and his character was the most unlucky/ miserable bastard on the planet. Practically every one he loved and everyone around him died a dramatic horrible death in the course of the series. It was great TV.

The funny thing is Caruso left NYPD Blue after the first season because he felt he was too good for TV and was convinced that the movie Jade was going to make him a huge star. Look at him now? a decade later, he is playing a cop on TV.

To illustrate, a funny clip about Caruso leaving NYPD Blue played by people that look nothing like their real life Counterparts: Wink

Also, it pisses me off that everyone on CSI is a supermodel, even the chicks that work in the morgue. And which show is it with the goth chick in the crime lab, where in every scene she is in they cue the crappy techno/emo music? It's Terribad...

That's Pauley Perrette on NCIS, which is not a part of the CSI franchise. I personally think she's awesome on the show. And she actually has a degree in criminology in real life.

It's such a hit and miss show. I watch the original CSI more than any other incarnation, but I do not watch it on a regular basis at all. Miami I can never watch.

I guess nobody likes CSI: Miami other than me. Mr. Green

Speaking of which, I'm watching it right now in HD. Very Happy

It's cause the main character is a dick on and off the screen.

From what I'm guessing from this thread, contrasting the three CSI franchises is like contrasting three siblings: there is the one that all of the kids like (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), the one that all of the kids hate CSI: Miami), and the one nobody ever seems to talk to or about (CSI: New York).

While everybody seems to bash the hell out of David Caruso AKA "Horatio Caine", nobody ever seems to talk about Gary Sinise AKA "Mac Taylor". For God's sake, Gary was Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump.

I've read a few days ago that William Petersen AKA "Gil Grissom" is leaving CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for good.

Yeah, he is. Or already did. Not sure. I actually have been watching the original CSI all day today. SpikeTV is having a marathon called "Grissom Lives On!" lol

Tongiht, is the episode where he leaves.

William Petersons is stepping out as the star, and Larwance Fishburne is coming in as the star. He will be reprising his role as a University Professor who becomes a Level 1 CSI.
