I don't think it's BS because it breaks the Galactic Code, but rather that it doesn't give you a decent warning beforehand.

I think that was Iraq's response back in 1991.

"Dude, you motherfuckers didn't even -warn- me that taking over another country was against some sort of "code". And now you're all at war with me? This is bullshit!"

But there's no mention of a code at all, not even in the book, AND all the other (eight) Superpowers can be used without consequence.

Alien 3 on the NES. The game has a time limit and you apparently have to rescue some prisoners. However the game does not tell you this. How are you supposed to know what to do if the game does not tell you? So if the timer expires it says that you failed to rescue the prisoners. It is not after you fail that you are told what to do.

I'll figure that out later, then.

In the meantime, Ghandi has reminded me of a sure-fire addition to the list: Renegade. Backwards-warping is SO bullshit.

And Douche had to remind me of StarTropics and it's little "dip the letter in the water" trick.

That was bullshit, but in a good way.

Sometimes in SMB2(The real one, not the Doki Doki Panic one) you could stumble upon reverse warp zones which you were forced to take.

After careful consideration, I'm declaring the Spore thing Not Bullshit. Why? Because it really is common sense that when you do something like destroy all buildings on a planet and take it over, that other people just might for an alliance against you. Now, if "Splicing cats into fruit" were against the Code and all of a sudden the galaxy is pissed off about your new KittyBerries, that's different. But attacking others leads to war. It's a duh.

If it helps you, though, my wife is on your side.

I love this fight. And it would be Bullshit...if the game didn't eventually tell you how to beat him. I'm sure the MGS series has some serious bullshit in it someplace, though.

I'm not sure if this one is bullshit...

You play the beginning of Metal Gear Solid 2, you're having loads of fun kicking ass as Snake, and then...RAIDEN.

Well, Raiden was shown in previews and on a commercial I believe, so it at least gave you a warning...plus Raiden wasn't as bad as say....Tidus...

The earthquakes and hurricanes in Harvest Moon. The bullshit factor can really only be applied if you clear a lot of weeds and stones off the farm and get lots of crops planted and growing. It especially sucks if you manage to clean up all of the farm in one night, since the natural disaster fucks things up a lot, and you have to clean stones and crap off, and repair fence sections, and redo your crops. This doesn't seem like TRUE bs, but it can really get annoying, especially since they can happen at least once each year.

I want you all to repeat after me:

I AM
SOFA KING
WE TODD ED

Now, your turn.*SNICKER*

This Is A Joke

...Hmmmm...

I'm gonna have to check my MGS2 box and manual. I don't remember it giving any sort of warning about Raiden. But it probably does qualify (though it ranks up there on the spoiler-o-meter with "Aeris dies" and "Luke, I am your father").

Dunno much about Harvest Moon, but it seems to me you'd expect a farming sim to have to deal with natural disasters. Unless they happen so frequently you just can't get anything done, not BS.

Yeah, they could have at least given you a Doppler one-week warning. I mean, shit, man.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.
