I keep seeing these lists of "Worst Video Games".
I was just thinking that these lists aren't all that meaningful.
For the most part, games that suck ass don't get played by anyone. They tend to just go away. Most of the games on these lists haven't been played by the majority of people reading the lists.
The list I want to see is, "Most Disappointing Games".
Games that you are excited to play or hear are good, and ultimately end up failing miserably.
These are the games that we can all relate to. We have all played them, and are pissed because WTF... they were just frustrating or disappointing.
An example for me would be Mario Kart Wii. I was so thrilled to play a new Mario Kart game, but the new controls weren't as great as they were advertised to be, two player mode can't be just between two people, three and four player modes have lower framerates, and the AI sucks.
So, list a few games that were truly disappointing.
Syd, I would love to eventually see a list like this from you.

Samurai Warriors: Katana this probably doesn't go for everybody but I loved the first 2 on PS2, and this was flat out horrible. It was a RAIL SHOOTER. but with melee weapons. A RAIL HACKER/SLASHER.

Killzone, it was hyped as a "Halo Killer", but ended up being a mediocre title with pop ups and graphical glitches at times.

I haven't played it, but I heard Fracture is absolutely awful. I remember watching a lot of coverage on G4 about it, and it looked really fun. They mainly focused on the terrain alteration when I watched, which they apparently did not pull off very well at all.

I do not know what the fuck you are talking about, I LOVE Mario Kart Wii, and I am a big Mario Kart fan in general.
Two people can indeed race just each other after a quick change in the options menu.

E.T. was horrible, I'll give them that. It lands at the top of these "Worst Video Game" lists all the time. I borrowed this game from my friend. I played it, couldn't figure it out and never played it again. I bet most of the people who makes these lists never even played it, they just say the same stuff everybody else does.
As for disappointing games, here goes:
Killzone, same reasons that Ba‘al stated.
Halo 2, I played the original but I HATE split screen and my friends didn't have multiple TVs and Xboxes to system link. So the story for Halo 2 for me sucked. Especially the ending. Xbox Live play was decent, but there were too many cheaters and de-levelers to make the game fun.
Star Wars Episode 1, the hype for the movie blinded me to how shitty the game was. Thankfully it was given to me as a gift. The Podracing game is all right but the action/platformer sucked.
Grand Theft Auto 4, I'm sorry to say this but this game disappointed me. They decided to go the realistic route and make every infraction summon the police. Realistic, yes but not fun. I loved how the originals, even the very original first GTA and GTA 2 let you do a lot of stuff before the police even noticed you but having them come after you for every little thing just made the game lame in my opinion. I'll stick with GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas over GTA 4.

Mario Kart Wii is indeed a disappoint. It was a step backwards from Mario Kart DS. The lack of a 1P Challenge Mode was disappointing, the classic track selection wasn't as good as the one from MKDS, and many of the classic tracks in MKW were slightly altered too.
On top of that:
12 racers is too fucking many. Prepare to be hit by lightning and rammed by Star-powered karts over and over again.
Offroading has been completely nerfed, ruining lightweight characters.
A lot of the new tracks are uninspired.

I was really looking forward to Okami but I thought it turned out to be shit. The gameplay got boring and the fights were just button mashing. To be fair, some of the boss fights were good. What really put me off about the game was the retarded goofy ass humor. I thought the game would be serious but it was nothing but a bunch of silly shit.
Another pick would be Kingdom Hearts 2. I thought the first one was alright, meaning good enough to finish and check out the sequel. The screen shots and videos for the second one made me really look forward to it, I thought the series was going to really move into its own and really draw me in but it didn't. It did the opposite. It was boring, stupid and more annoying than challenging. I mean, there was some really stupid shit in that game. One thing that irked me to no end was some of the boss fights, like where you have to kill 30 of some dude's water clones in 30 seconds or you are game over. You didn't die, you were just game over, for no fucking reason.

Holy shit... I never saw the "Rules" option before.
I will amend my argument.
Instead of it sucking that you can't race 1 vs 1, it sucks that the interface is so fucking convoluted that I would miss it for nearly a year.

I think the lists are important at least to game developers. They can keep these games in the back of their mind so they know what to NOT do when making video games. That's the primary importance I can see of such lists. On to my disappointing games:
Tomorrow Never Dies - I loved the shit out of Goldeneye. I was still sort of ignorant at this age because I didn't have a lick of worry about the next game being a flop, especially since Rare had nothing to do with it, but I learned soon after. Complete garbage. Third-person PoV, horrible controls and aiming, bland levels and graphics.
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent - Another Bond game I actually had hopes for that were dashed quite expertly. I couldn't play this for more than 5 minutes without blood running out of my ears for some reason. I still get flash hallucinations to this day reflecting my utter disappointment.
There are others too, but I can't think of any right now. I have a booming hangover. Woof.

I'm going with Haze for the PS3. I played the demo of it and I know you can't base a choice off of a demo, since it's still incomplete, but all it felt was like a bunch of guys just running at you. They made a big deal off of this "Nectar" system but all it does is give you a what feels like unlimited ammo, and when you get off your high, you find out you have three shots left.
Another dissapointing game for me was Resistance: Fall of Man. The graphics were shit. Half-Life 2 and the Orange box looked much prettier on PS3 then Resistance. Then the overall gameplay was essentially Halo. I was looking for an energy sword to kill the coven- er chimera with.
Last Dissapointing game from me for now because I need to give deuche my pathetic Megaman X entry is Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind on the PC. It's decent in the do what ever the hell you want aspect of an RPG, but the game underneath it all makes it your only choice to be good. I wanted to go around be feared and hated, but instead I had to "find my ring" or "guide these prospectors to the Colony". After I did that I said screw it and went around killing people, but why the hell are the townspeople so much stronger then you?
Besides the gameplay issues, the whole backdrop is BROWN... sure in the expansion pack island of solestheim had more color (WHITE AND GREEN) the entire color scheme is based off of a brown setting... To think Morrowind is nothing more then a giant mud hill...

I actually like 3rd person more than 1st, and don't see why this makes the game any worse.

Bioshock was disappointing after all the hype everyone had for it. Fable was disappointing for reasons I've posted elsewhere in this forum.

Fable was incredibly disappointing considering all the promises made, and the fact that it had NO replay value whatsoever.
Another big disappointment was Aidyn Chronicles on the N64, what a horrendous RPG.
Fallout 3, the Fallout series should have been shot dead after Brotherhood of Steel. Now we're getting Fallout Alaska Adventures... oh God why.
The biggest disappointment for me however, was Neverwinter Nights. It was originally supposed to be a complete transfer of the pen and paper DnD to the online world, but all it ended up being was a stupid little game with a big toolset to create your own campaigns. It felt like a huge step down from Baldur's Gate 2.

Hey, Fallout 3 is amazing. I can understand it not being as good as the the first two for some people, because that's hard enough to top as it is, but a disappointment? I disagree.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, after playing the sheer awesomeness that was the original Spyro trilogy on the PS1, I was stoked to play Spyro on a more powerful system. I was expecting an amazing experience with imaginative worlds, great music, updated graphics, and overall just awesomeness in general. Instead, I got a glitch-fest with long loading times, lackluster gameplay, an inconsistent frame-rate and uninteresting levels of concepts that were already used in other games and were even done better. What's worse is to this day like Crash Bandicoot, the series continues to be raped up the ass by crappy developers and uncreative writers. It almost brings a tear to any former Spyro fan's eye....I'd much rather for Spyro to have just died off than to be made a mockery of.

WCW Mayhem. I was really looking forward to this game after WCW VS nWo Revenge but it just wasn't that good.
Enter The Matrix, the game was just lame. You just fought the same enemies over and over again and all the "Matrix" moves got old after a while.
