In spirit of the Videogame "stuck in a glitch forever" thread on here, I was wondering what your worst instance of having game memory deleted is.

I recall on my first run through OoT that my game had gotten erased while on the last battle with Ganon. I was so devastated that I did not go back and beat the game for about two years.

Also one time my sister was being a mega bitch while I was saving in Gran Turismo 3, and shut off the console. Of course this resulted in me losing ALL of my data (well over 100 hours, I was livid).

I somehow accidentally erased my data on SSBM after getting all of the trophies.

I was 3/4 through The Force Unleashed and it erased on me.

I beat Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow and it erased on me as I began Julius mode.

My Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy II (IV), and Legend of Zelda cartridges all lost their battery life.

I had a game glitch in KOTOR and had to restart after half way through.

My sister erased my entire TI82. All the programs I wrote on it were destroyed.

My sister accidentally erased my OoT game save when I was in Water Temple. In her defense, she was like 5. I was so pissed and frustrated that I didn't even try the game again until I got in for the Gamecube.

After I played through Conker's Bad Fur Day and beat the final boss, I loaned it to a friend of mine... He didn't realize that there were three spots for saved games, not just one... so he erased my game and started his own. He returned it when he was maybe halfway through with it, I was so pissed. It was a couple years before I finally got around to finishing the whole thing again.

It wasn't a video game, but it feels the same.

I had built this:

And my sister sat on it.

I still weep for the M:Tron Mega Core Magnetizer

You waited that long to retry OoT

I haven't had hardly any erased games but my brother once erased my jet set radio future game like 3 times before I decided to save on all of the save files so his 5 year old brain couldn't accidentaly erase all of them.

Back when I first got my nintendo I was playing Legend of Zelda and I played for like an hour and got really far. Then I turned it on the next day and there was no save. I was furious but it was either play Zelda or play Super Mario Bros., my nintendo was powered on for about 6 days straight before I rented a game and had to turn it off.

I got the "24" glitch of erasing the game data. Not a big deal, because with cheats you can unlock everything again.

The worst that happened to me was with an emulator, mostly because it was total bullshit. I lost a save file of a Final Fantasy VI hack by trying to record a movie file with Snes9x.
I wasn't too far in the game, but losing 15 hours of gameplay isn't particularly fun. I had just passed the opera too, which was pretty hard because the fucking rats take forever to beat.

I got my PS2 memory cards confused once, and erased my Gran Turismo 4 off the wrong one, and lost all my data. (I was about 90% complete) I think I lost about four months of my life because of that.

not game data per se, but for zelda II, when i was young i was stuck on thuderbird and my mom was stuck on shadow link. then the game broke and would just repeat the first 2 seconds of the intro repeatedly when i turned the game on. that sucked big time.

My friend Joey has had the worst luck with Final Fantasy VIII. About five years ago he decided to play FF8 and half way through the game his memory card died. So he starts the game again, half way through it there is a power outage while saving and currupts the data. Third time he tried it and got almost to the end, his fucking house burnt down. He has never played FF8 again.

I had a PSX memory card that would consistently corrupt my FF saves, and only FF saves. Whether it was 7 or 8, it did it every time, and not for any other games.

I erased my Super Mario 64 date after I'd collected 120 stars. I don't know why, I think I wanted to do it all over again, as I dug a good challenge. Or, I was just a dumbass. But when I got them all back, 5 years later, it was soooooo satisfying. (The console was at my grandma's house for a few years, which is why it took so long.)
My PS2 memory card deleted all my Rock Band data, so I had to play every song on Expert drums/guitar, in the course of a day so I could have all the songs for a party I was going to. Then we only played the game for like, ten minutes. What wasted effort...

GTA III, my game wouldnt erase, but after i got to the 3rd city and only had about 3-4 missions to go, the memory card would never ever load my game properly.

same w/GTA:VC, w/only 2-3 missions to go, it would never load the game. i figured it was just taking long because i was so far into the game, so i would let it sit there for a long time, but it would never load.

so, to this day, i have not beat GTA II or GTA : VC. i havent gotten too far in GTA : SA only because im afraid this shit will happen to me again

Just a few months ago, I was playing Pokemon leaf green for the first time, and I was about halfway through the game, but spent tons of time training my team of pokemon when the cartridge battery died and lost my save.

Last month, my 3 year old son was messing around with the Wii (He likes to play the Lego games) and somehow got into the system memory part of it, and as if he knew what he was doing, systematically erased all the saved games I had on there, including my 100% Lego Star Wars completion, Mario Galaxy completion, and almost 100% Bully data.

Pretty devastating...

No real problems with saved games on my wii (outside of the fact that some of my saves were lost after I sent my wii into Nintendo for repair). If I lost all of my brawl data, I would be QUITE devastated.
