Wii Sports is #1.

http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=2724&a=2

Why are there so many fucking Pokemon games on this list?

And by so many, I mean 2. WHY?

The reason this is BS: If Mario Galaxy had been bundled with every Wii, it would be #1. If Windwaker had been bundled with a Wii, it would be #1. If Little Nemo: The Dream Master had been bundled with the Wii, it would be #1.

The fucking Wii is being sold and every system has this game. Hence, if the system sells the most units, the game will be with every system.

By their standards Solitaire should be #1.

It is an odd quandry, yeah that's my vocab word for the day, because I agree it is bundled with the Wii everywhere except in Japan and Korea, which is why I think they put it on the list. Still very odd.

Whereas Super Mario Bros. is a legitimately good/fun game, Wii Sports is nothing more than a casual party game that you may play with your friends if they don't like Halo or Mario Kart.

And there's that many Pokemon games because they count both versions as the same game (which they should), but keep in mind that a lot of people buy both versions so that they can CATCH THEM ALL and compulsively trade back and forth so they can get that perfect team with max stats and personalities and hair colors or whatever.

Gotta love Nintendo though, holding down the top ten best selling games of all time lol.

I was surprised to see Duckhunt on there though, wow nice.

The pokemon thing really bothers me.

Most people don't know anything about pokemon and wouldn't buy one of those games, but because there are multiple games, the people who are into them buy multiple games.

It would be no different than grouping the sales of Ocarina of time and Majora's mask just because they are on the same platform. Fuck that... Imagine the numbers of SMB SMB2 and SMB combined. Really? Gonna count all those together?

No.

Whats more, people would choose to purchase one copy of most of those games, not three or five of the same fucking thing because it is a "collectors edition".

Pokemon can go fuck themselves with the little yellow rabbit and stick that damn red and white ball up their asses.

It's completely different as OoT and Majora's Mask are two completely different games. Pokemon Red and Blue are not only on the same platform, but identical games for the most part. I think the only difference was a couple different Pokemon or something? It is my understanding that that is why they're grouped together.

That is why they're grouped together, yeah.

Again, it's just a thing to make people with no friends (or no friends who are into Pokemon) who are obsessive about 100% completion go out and buy multiple copies of the same game.

From a monetary standpoint, it is ingenious. From a video game comparative standpoint, it is utter crap. It is skewed data and nothing more.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is often cited as the best selling video game that wasn't bundled with a console.

According to that chart, it looks like that's no longer the case.

Splitting up the Pokemon games into separate entries and discounting the bundle packs, it looks like Nintendogs is now the #1 game.

Wii Sports especially shouldn't count since it's not sold commercially. At least SMB1 was available individually.

Tetris is probably the best selling game ever.

And isn't South Korea the only country where Wii Sports isn't a pack-in?

Will DSi have a pack-in? I'd like to see those days return. I was pissed and confused when I found out Mario 64 wasn't included with the system.

In Japan Wii Sports is not a packin either.
