I just got an 80GB PS3 for Christmas, and need a few suggestions for a few games. I'm interested specifically in RPGs, but I'll take any suggestions that anyone might have. I'm currently tapping my foot and waiting for Resident Evil 5 or Shadow of the Colossus 2 to be released... so let me know what's out, available, and worth owning.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

I'm an RPG fanatic. Sadly I haven't come across any that I felt like playing or that kept my intrest. Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 are solid choices. I've mostly been playing games from teh PSN though.

Then you should try Valkyria Chronicles. Now.
Other than that and what he said, I don't really know. GTA4? Fallout 3? It's just that all the PS3 games I'm thinking of are on 360 too.

Haven't checked it out yet. Have you played it?

Yes, I've only played it at a friends (you could try out the demo on PSN, iirc) and the gist of it is it's an SRPG, but it's not even one bit like the ones you think of. you control your people on a map, and when you're done, you can zoom in to the area and you can fight the enemy in real time, Gears-style kinda like. It's pretty fun.

In order of awesome:
1. Valkyria Chronicles - thumbs up
2. Eternal Sonata - is pretty good
3. folklore - entertaining for a bit, but ultimately meh. most fun use of motion controls though

Also, if you SILL haven't played the original ninja gaiden, Sigma is beautiful and 60 fps of beauty. Ratchet and Clank is good.
The PSN games are the best things Sony has going for it right now though. the Pixeljunk games, flOw, echochrome (kinda meh, but novel), everyday shooter, super stardust hd are all pretty good.

I could use some recommendations for games on PSN. The PSone Classics line up is a huge disappointment. There's not much there and what they do have is slim pickings. I was looking at a list and Japan has PSone games out the ass on their PSN. All 3 RE games, Xenogears, Dino Crises, MGS, and more. If they can take the time to release all those games in Japan, how come we aren't getting them?

People can't seem to suck Little Big Planet's dick hard enough, so that's probably a good buy.

i dont have a ps3, but i bought several games off the psn from my friend's ps3. echochrome is a pretty unique puzzle game. i bought flow, but didnt much care for it. everyday shooter is pretty badass. and there are the old games you can get, as in castlevania:sotn , super puzzle fighter (awesome game), MKII, et. al.

I just bought Eternal Sonata for 18 bucks new at the store I work at. I'm enjoying it so far.

lolwut? I just saw that someone mentioned it above. I have it for 360, but yes it's also on PS3. The PS3 version is harder, a couple more dungeons, with slower leveling up.
