Not sure if anyone here has heard this yet but apparently LEGO: Rock Band may be in the works:

http://www.videogaming247.com/2009/01/02/rumour-lego-rock-band-in-works-at-tt/

If it is true I really don't see the appeal. I understand LEGO Star Wars, Batman, Indiana Jones ect as I can see how it's fun to see and play around with established fictional characters in LEGO form, but LEGO Rock Band just sounds dumb.

I don't know. Maybe we can design our own rock stars in it. If you could make a rock star with one arm and a flower on top of his head, it would sell really well.

Why not a regular Rock Band with a Lego notes cheat? That sounds more reasonable.

Hold on, when I play Guitar Hero, I look at the notes. I occasionally have time to look at score or star power. I don't have time to look at my character. It makes no difference to me if I'm playing as Axel Steel, Judy Nails, My custom Sweeny Todd I made or the GODDAMN BATMAN.

This doesn't entirely make sense...what kind of tracklisting would this have?

Actually, now that I think about it, one of the tracks could be when I was seven, my sister knocked over my two-and-a-half-foot-tall lego tower, and I tripped and fell on it. The solo could be when I got a green cylinder lego stuck in my ankle and started screaming. Hmm.

Or that one that goes like "AH SHIT, WHO PRESSED ALL OF THE THIN LEGOS TOGETHER SO I CAN'T GET THEM APART. FUCK."

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

A Lego version of Rock Band would have to have:

Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2
Starship - We Built This City
Faith No More - Falling To Pieces
Aerosmith - Come Together (cuz the Beatles won't license their version)
Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees
Powerman 5000 - Nobody's Real
Ben Folds Five - Brick
Korn - Shoots And Ladders
AC/DC - Who Made Who
Creed - My Own Prison

And so on

The Beatles still won't license their version>? I thought they were coming out with a Beatles version of Rock Band later this year,

LOL, they were out of ideas so they decided to throw the same two dead horses into a blender and mold a pony from the goo.

There is a way I can kinda see this working: Building a drumset where you could decide whether or not you want a minimalist drumkit, or something so ridiculous and extravagant that you would make neil Peart say "GODDAMN!" Or you could build the shape of your guitars.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

And that's where the fun would end. What about Lego™ SimCity or Lego™ RPG? You could just build shit and then destroy it all day.

Isn't the new Banjo Kazooie game Lego-based?

I'm not sure that I see the appeal of most Lego based games.
