I'm breaking down and buying a 360 in a few days. I need something to game on and frankly, my Wii isn't cutting it. I can only buy one game right now for I am not really making money so I want a good game with lots of replay. Right now I am thinking a shooter and then just playing shitloads of multiplayer. Any suggestions? I play everything but racing games so RPGs, FPSs, cooking, anything will be a good suggestion.

Fallout 3 if you want single-player, and the Orange Box or Gears 2 for multi-player.

I would get Fallout 3 or Oblivion.
Those two games have so much content, you'll really be able to survive with just one of them for a while.

MASS EFFECT.
It's the only 360 game I have right now and it is SICK. There's no multiplayer, but there's shooting and tank driving. Oh yeah, and alien sex. There's lot's of sidequests and shit too, so there's your replayability. So far it hasn't got old, oh and did I mention the alien sex?

Indeed. And you have to go to a strip club within the first hour of the game.

Hmmm... All the others sound good. As long as there is long time playability.
Except the Orange box. I have it for PC.

Fallout 3 will definitely give you a lot of playability for your money. I'm close to 20 hours into the game and I've only scratched the surface of the main story.

If you haven't played it for another system, I'd say try Lego Star Wars. Oblivion is really good. There is so much to do that you'll probably play for close to 200 hours and still not do everything. Saints Row and GTA IV are good ones.

If you're looking for a shooter, your best option is Ikaruga off XBLA. If you're looking for an FPS, well you have plenty of options.

I've never been as psyched for a game as I am for Skate 2. I really consider Skate to be my favorite sports game, and one of my favorite games of all time.

If you're wanting more bang for your buck, definitely check out Oblivion. I've logged more than 90 hours into it, I'm Level 33, and I've only done maybe two missions in the main storyline.
