Man this game was badass, I remember renting the game for the SNES back in 1993 just for the music. The game itself is fun also. You race in various levels on different planets and you can buy all kinds of upgrades for your vehicles. Some upgrades include weapons you can use to destroy your opponents. The soundtrack was off the hook for the time. The songs were:

* "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath
* "The Peter Gunn Theme" by Henry Mancini
* "Highway Star" by Deep Purple
* "Radar Love" by Golden Earring (only in the Mega Drive/Genesis version)
* "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf
* "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood

This game just had awesome written all over it. The gameplay was fun, the characters were all pretty colorful and the music rocked. Definitely check this one out. The Genesis version is slightly superior to the SNES one because it has another song, Radar Love.

Played the SNES version before, it's pretty fun. Plus you can play as Olaf from The Lost Vikings. It kind of reminds me of RC ProAm with better music.

I own the Genesis version still, and I play it once or twice a year, and I enjoy every minute of it. The soundtrack is just fucking awesome, and the character's you can play as are pretty cool, and you can play as Olaf in either version. It would be bad-ass if they did a sequel that was good or a remake with extra features. For some reason, I always end up having the $70,000 car by the end of the first 8 races, and the first two races I spend on upgrades for the current car to make it better.

Apparently they did make a sequel for the PSOne but it didn't do well in sales. I'll have to try and find a copy of it somewhere:

I saw Red Asphault all the time at the store. I never really played it though. It shouldn't be that hard to find or that expensive.
