It's a bummer that there are very few good sitcoms nowadays. But that's OK because the majority of sitcoms over the years have sucked balls, mostly faulted by a shitty or incredibly annoying character. Let's name some.

I hated the dad from ALF since I was a wee lad. Something about that man gave me the heebie jeebies. And what's with the marginally hot MILF wife that he's married too? Either his scientist gig pays a lot, or he's got a huge creepy old man schlong.

See now I feel bad for hating the dad from Alf. If I would have known this was going on...wait, no I don't feel bad.

I could have gone my whole life without seeing that. Thanks a lot Muppet.

That is from an old National Enquirer issue. It has no validity.

Basically ALL sitcom characters make me vomit with rage. The only show i can watch, that isnt animated/stop motion, is [H]ouse.

I can TOLERATE some episodes of friends, same with Seinfeld, but shit like Two and a Half Men, or How I Met Your Mother make me wonder how our entire society hasn't imploded in on itself.

Wait, you can laugh at Friends, with its PG humor, but not laugh at Two and a Half Men?

Sheesh. They are all pretty shitty, but I'm pretty sure 90% of this forum has nothing but pure, burning hatred for Friends, and most of the cast, so I'd watch your tongue there lad.

I like watching Friends every now and then. But I'm a huge sitcom fan. There are probably more that I like than those I don't.

Why in the hell did anyone even watch that show? I will never understand that it was as popular as it was.

I agree. I mean his character was such an idiot. His wife on the show came off as a naggy bitch.

Hmm. Sitcom characters I hate? Where do I begin? I guess I can give you my Top 5:

-Steve Urkel
-Mark from Roseanne
-the mechanic who replaced Thomas Haden Church on Wings
-Michelle Tanner
-Ray fucking Romano. Actually, the entire fucking cast of Everybody Loves Raymond. I fucking don't.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

I'm actually shocked at some of your answers. I've seen hatred towards people I thought were well liked.

It's not an actual character, but I hate the stupid ass laugh tracks in sitcoms. It's annoying enough for the show to point out when I should be laughing. Why do people keep using it? It has been used a lot less lately, but still IT WON'T DIE!!!

Family Matters is a show I have to be in the mood for, or else I just turn the channel. I like to watch Nick at Night because I like George Lopez and Home Improvement. But sometimes I'm just not in the mood for Family Matters. I will say this about it. If Steve Urkel wasn't on the show, it would have had a much shorter run. So he was a huge asset. But when the show jumped the shark, it really jumped the shark (not literally like Fonzie).

Mark was a dumbass. But he didn't bother me too much as long as he had a minor role in the episode. Roseanne was another show that turned to complete shit once it jumped the shark.

When Bud replaced Lowell, it was completely unacceptable.

Michelle Tanner, IMO, is about the same as everyone else on Full House. I think she fits the show pretty well.

Everyone Loves Raymond is usually a show that either people love or hate. I personally like it, but can easily see why people don't. I will say that I believe the entire cast played their parts spot on, maybe with the exception of the kids. The MacDougalls were great. Especially Chris Elliott's character.

The only reason I occasionally watched Everybody loves Raymond was Peter Boyle. Great actor.

Most stupid characters are funny in their stupidity. The stupid levels of Peggy Hill are enough to cause real physical pain to my soul.

King of the Hill was made to appeal to redneck white trash family who can't grasp some of the humor concepts of the Simpsons or Family Guy.

KOTH was never funny to me, which is sad because of how funny Beavis and Butthead were with Mike Judge at the healm

On my most hated sitcom character, that would have to go to Jerry Seinfeld. He made so much money off the show that yet was stingy with the supporting cast on residuals. He even had the nerve to call out Richards out on Letterman(coincidently when the new season of Seinfeld was due out on DVD). Richard made a mistake trying to make ends meat hitting the comedy store scenes and was bombing hard,in term dropping the N Word trying to find some kind of laugh in the audience unsuccessfully. I think Kramer actually wanted to scream at Jerry Seinfeld for allowing it to get to that point where he had to make an ass of himself and have to stoop to that level to make a living.

I have a big problem with people who shat on people that helped them get to where they are. Jerry is such on a high horse that he fails to realize that he was once a nobody. I will get physically angry if someone i know tries to turn that show on at my apartment and I always go into a rant about it. Most think I have good points but they say just enjoy the show and don't think about the man behind it. I dislike the man so much that I can't even be openminded to the thought of it.

How bout the whole cast of Full house save Bob Saget. I've wanted to beat the Popeye out of Uncle Joey ever since I was a kid. And whoever created that damn song, him too, yeah he should eat some dirt as well. Fuck Full House.

I'm with Undeath. Steve Urkel for the fucking win. God I hated that character. I rarely, rarely feel homicidal rage (well, outside of playing a very difficult video game, anyway Confused ), but that "whoops! Did I do that?!" and the fucking APPLAUSE and MUGGING every time he showed up in an episode, just made me want to shoot things.
