I may or may not have brought this up before but is there anyone else who pissed off about N64 games on the Virtual Console? There's only 15 of them and half of them are dog shit. Why does it take so long to get 64 games on there and why aren't there any more classics on the horizon? They've got Mario Golf, 1080 Snowboarding, Cruis'n USA and other turds on there. Was anybody anticipating these games? Why would you want to play some old ass, outdated snowboarding or racing game? I'm sure there's going to be another Mario Golf on the Wii anyway that'll be everything the 64 version is and more. The only game I've heard about coming up was Clayfighter 63 1/3. Mad WTF? That is some serious bullshit right there. Who fucking cares about that game? You'd think with the recent succes of Brawl, they'd ride that wave and release the first Smash Bros. Where the fuck is Majora's Mask, DK64, Pilotwings, Turok, Mystical Ninja (they did the SNES one.). Unfortunately at this rate we'll probably see Superman 64 before any of those. Hell, I'd be excited for the Castlevania games. The Wii has got to be pushing the halfway point of it's life and 15 games is all we have? We'll be lucky if it makes it to 30. Anyone else wanna bitch too?

Because they realize that most of the top 64 games could be re-released on ds or wii and still make good money.

I actually like Cruis N USA and downloaded it. I know it isn't a great racer but I bought it for the nostalgia factor, that it is a game I remember from the arcade as a kid, and that it is 2 player. I do agree I wish there were more great N64 games on the VC. Castlevania, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, MK Trilogy, all were awesome games on the N64.

Aw, I like Mario Golf. It was a good time-waster in college with my friends, just like Mario Kart & Mario Tennis. Tennis destroyed my thumbs though....

Believe it or not, the GBC versions of Mario Golf and Mario Tennis are actually more fun than their N64 counterparts.

They win alone for having Sin and Punishment in english on there.

Also, Clayfighter 63 1/3 was pretty fun when I played it as a kid.

There are plenty of good N64 games on the Virtual Console:
Sin & Punishment
Kirby 64
Wave Race 64
Yoshi's Story
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Mario Golf
Star Fox 64
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

There you go. Nine N64 games that are good on the VC.

Hey hey, Clayfighters 63 1/3 was an awesome game. Hell, it still appeals to me. But i have to agree, they should release bigger titles to the VC by now. But i'm such an N64 fan, i'll take the crap . . . if i had VC that is.

Maybe I got a bad version of it or something but Clay Fighter can suck on my balls after a week of not bathing and working out with out wearing deoderant. I liked the SNES ones though. What makes this game appealing?

What the hell do you mean re-released on the wii? What fucking N64 game has been actually sold as a Wii game in stores? As for DS, they tried that with Super Mario 64 and it sold poorly and got shitty reviews too.

Yea, it'd be nice if they put some more N64 games on the VC. The first 2 Banjo-Kazooie games, Majora's Mask, and Conkers Bad Fur Day are what I'd like to see (but will probably never happen because of rare's faggotry).

It sold over 6 million copies, and received generally positive reviews, from IGN, 1up, etc. So you're pretty wrong there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_64_DS#Reception

It was inferior to the N64 version, sure (simply because the controls weren't good, but that was more of a DS limitation, what with the lack of a joystick), but there you go.

I still have my n64 and SNES and NES, so this has never been a problem for me. I'm very much a packrat and OCD about having the originals of everything. I like to have the original copy of every game, I hate greatest hits because it's more or less not a first printing, ect. This applies to film, books, music, AND games.. It sure takes a toll on my wallet. But I agree, from what you said it seems like they're being rather slow on putting n64 games up on the virtual console, which while not for me personally, I think was a brilliant idea. I hate non-backwards compatibility GRR.

Also, I heard somewhere it's actually Nintendo's fault that Rare's games on the N64 aren't going on the VC, unless that was just for Goldeneye.....

It was for Goldeneye, that it is Nintendo's fault. However, it is my understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, but that due to the blow up about Goldeneye, the whole Microsoft & Rare thing, they have dug in and refused to let them put many Rare games on the VC.

You are right. Rare's partnership with Sony has made it difficult to put many of their top tier titles up on the VC.

You mean Microsoft?

Also, yesterday all that was put up was Sonic 2 on the Master System, I really wish sometimes they'd stop releasing games I already have in another(cheaper) form, this one being the Sonic Collection, same thing happened with them releasing Metal Slug 2.

And the Donkey Kong Country trilogy was just too unavoidable? I understand Donkey Kong is a signature Nintendo character, but doesn't explain why DK64 isn't out yet.

They released the Genesis version of Sonic 2. But your point remains the same. That being said, the first 2 Sonic games on the VC have an edge over the Collections on the Gamecube, the ability to save via the Wiisave.

Yeah, but I'm not paying 800 points for just save-states. Plus I have the original cart.

Figures Rare, the best makers of N64 games at that time, are being silenced.

1080 Snowboarding was the only snowboarding game I ever liked. I thought Cool Boarders for PS1 and that other lame one for N64 were terrible. Than again I really don't like snowboarding, but it was still a cool game.

MARI--

...Nevermind.

Recap: NeitherClayfighter 63 1/3 nor Cruisin' USA are worth a purchase on VC (Especially considering how butchered Crusin' N64 is compared to the Arcade version), Rare has expressed interest in releasing their other games on VC, but at this point, it's up to Nintendo, I'm loving how Sin & Punishment got released (And translated!) for 'us,' yet Earthbound (Or any Mother, for that matter) is pretty much still in the air, despite strong fan interest, and, for some reason, I'd also rather have the original game(s), especially when they're cheaper than the VC prices.

Was I supposed to put something here?
