Hey this is Glycerine. I suppose it was inevitable that I joined this body, since I've been observing the head for some time now. That may sound odd, but i'm referring to the articles that Syd writes when you first enter the site. I originally stumbled upon this site when searching the internet for a list of the top 100 SNES games. I found more than I bargained for. As I read the intro to the list, I realized that I had discovered something to do on the internet again besides porn and free music downloads. Reading a few of the articles, I was refreshed in the knowing that there were still articles being made and that this wasn't a dead site. As well as being entertaining, this site is extraordinarily professional and organized. Syd's articles are equal parts smartly hilarious and insane. The pictures he artfully sprinkles about the topic of choice are to the point and helpful to the reader. I can't imagine it being easy to obtain screenshots of every game he comments on, some of them well edited.
At any rate, I suppose I'll stop the ass-kissing. To be honest, this is the first forum I've been a part of. That would explain the blatant lack of signature and user photo. I will get to that, I assume, sometime tomorrow. I hope to become someone active in this forum that is generally well known, as does anyone i'm sure.
Now, for stuff about me. I'm basically 16, but I have about 2 weeks left. From what I have read, my era is frowned upon by Syd and the crew. All I ask is that you don't judge me just yet. My family was not exactly passionate about pursuing the hottest trends in gaming, so me and my sisters were lodged into the first generation era. When we were forunate enough for them to work, we enjoyed titles like Bubble Bobble, The Legend of Zelda, TMNT, and even all of the Lolo titles (which pissed me off more than you can possibly imagine.) Eventually we upgraded to the SNES and Genesis, and really shot off into a world of imagination mixed with button mashing and pure loathment for this thing called a video game. Of course we got over those feelings, swallowed our pride, and admitted that the weaker sex would have to take over to get us past that frustrating boss battle or timed jump. Now I enjoy games from the new-generation systems, but those originals have remained the basis for all the games I now take part of. Another factor that I can use to argue my case is the music I am interested in. Not necessarily the decade of my choice, mind you, but the fact that it does not include the decade in which I currently reside in. I am a huge fan of the 70's, 80's, and 90's, and not of the boy bands and talentless teenagers that now plague our radios. So there you have it. Not a very exciting human, but I like to think of myself as a worthy consumer of resources. I'm sure I have more to say, but as of now I think my post is long enough to discourage our readers with ADD and ADHD. I hope I get a reply or 2, positive or negative, because I want to at least have my presence recognized here. Thank you for reading to here and I wish you good tidings of joy or happy hannukah or whatever shit you buy presents in the midst of.
Um, right. I did indeed stumble upon the user photo gallery so that's no longer an issue.

Your crux has been your salvation. Starting out with the foundations of video consoles has made you a better person.

Welcome

I was referring to the name of the creature that is your avatar, as it appears in Doom. Not insulting you at all, brother.

Oh haha I gotcha. My this is awkward... I just picked a character at random, although I was aware that the picture came from Doom. I have to get a picture that displays something I can hold a conversation about.

What's up, man! I notice you're from Texas, too! I'm from Pflugerville, if you know where that is, but go to college in San Antonio. Glad to know more people from the Lone Star State are here.

Welcome

I joined when I was 15. Age is no problem as long as you don't write tl;dr posts like that and such, in addition to not being an idiot like some people here, haha.

You guys know that TLDR doesn't require a semi-colon, right? But I read it and welcome. Spacing is your friend. You're already doing better than M3GAMAN and hacker.

Well thanks for the welcome. One question, and I'm relatively sure this will be the last: how do you upload a pic for your signature?

You'll have to find webspace somewhere, create a photobucket or something. Then use the [img] tag to put it in your signature.
