Whenever I'm just spending time on this site, my CA Firewall keeps popping up showing this virus called "Actns/Swif.t . I don't know what to do about it, if any of you super geeks that have gotten rid of it, tell me how to.

I am getting the same error on this site. I read about it, and it comes from embedded videos. I did not have a virus at all till today when I opened certain threads and there was embedded video in them. I am at work, and double checked both my computer, and had the sonic wall checked, as well as the internal firewall. It is coming from certain embedded videos.

From what I read, once you get it affects other embedded videos with adware.

The link GP provided is incorrect. The tried and true way to get rid of a virus of this nature is to do the following:

1: Open up your computer.
2: Obtain a 9 volt battery and a screw driver (flathead or Philips, doesn't matter)
3. Take the screw driver and place the end of it to the C MOS chip on your motherboard.
4. Position the metallic part of the screw driver so that it is touching your RAM while its end is still touching your CMOS. (Note: Any other stuff the metallic part of the screw driver is touching is bonus)
5. At this point take the 9 volt battery and touch the connections to the screw driver.
6. you should hear an "electical noise".

Hope this helps. Razz

Edit: I will add this to the Sydeopedia link later if I am feeling generous. This level of computer expertise does not come cheap after all.

Better ways to achieve Probable Muppet's results:

1) Hit your computer with a sledge hammer about 3 or 4 times.
2) Put your computer in the dish washer
3) Take a shower with your computer
4) Open the case, put bird seed in the computer and put it outside.

Spybot has not found anything either. Not sure what is going on, however this morning when I logged in, other embedded videos are not doing it anymore. Very strange.
