I'm wondering people's opinion on the Gundam games that have been released over the years. Here's mine.

Gundam Wing Endless Duel: This game fucking rules! It plays better than Street Fighter 2 on the SNES.

Gundam (arcade fighting game): This game sucks balls. The sequel is much better.

The sequel to the game above: Pretty good.

Gundam: Zeonic Front: This game is a steaming pile of shit not worth playing unless you're a masochist, and that's coming from a Gundam fan.

MSG Federation VS Zeon: This game is pretty cool.

MSG Gundam VS Zeta Gundam: This game uses an updated version of the engine in MSGFVZ. It's really fun, and addictive.

MSG Encounters in Space: Meh. Rolling Eyes

Anyone else?

Mobile Suit Z Gundam: Hot Scramble (1986, Famicom)

was the first Gundam game ever released on a home console. It was good.

Well, half of it.

The FPS levels were amazing and a lot of *fun*.

However, the side scroller levels were boring and looked like you were in Donkey Kong instead of a proper Gundam game.

If you guys want to try it... It's all in English. Not Engrish.

Also, the words "Gundam" and "FPS" reminds me of the upcoming Xbox 360 game Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation Troy.

mine was an illegal copy, so sometimes it woudl do glitchy things like only load parts of the robots.

I had a legal copy, and even then it either sucked (it was old, so sometimes the music glitched) or was only halfway decent. Getting the shit raped out of you by Big Zam sucks ass.

Never played that. I did like Battle Assault 3 featuring Gundam SEED.

picture battle assault 2, done with proper spriting (albeit horribly drawn ones)

now take all the music out except for hte power rangetrs theme.

now only let you use four characters.

now have the characters that aren't robots fight like robots.

there you go.

Wow, that sucks.

Also, the game didn't have proper spriting because they wanted to show wear on the parts of the mobile suits, so each part had its own sprite. That's probably why only parts of the mobile suits showed up on your hacked copy.

that would be my guess.

i'm sure thats also why the game took months to load.

The new one for the PS3 is ATROCIOUS. I mean sweet Jesus you've got water clipping into land when you splash into it!

If Gundam PS3 sucks as you say...

This would be a good time to mention Mobile Suit Gundam Operation: Troy for the Xbox 360.

It's shaping up to be a nice FPS/Mech Control mix. ('cause the sense of accomplishment is great taking one down with a rocket launcher) Unfortunately the realistic (non-anime) style is kept. And it has Xbox Live, I think.

EDIT: After seeing it again, I noticed that you can pilot almost every vehicle in the Gundam universe.
