I've already tried the SoM games, Zelda, of course, and the Terranigma games. Please help me.

Holy crap, that reminds me of probably my favorite action/RPG on the SNES, Soul Blazer. Damn that game ruled. How could I have forgotten it?

Third'ing Gaia, it's a pretty fun romp. Also it's reminiscent of chrono trigger kinda, the main character looks similar.
I highly reccomend Shadowrun.

Shit, I really don't know what to do in that game (Shadowrun)...
Or is it just the fact that I suck at this game?

Tales of Phantasia, but you would either have to import it or get a ROM.

Get the scalpel and the slap patch from the fridge before you leave the mortuary. Go outside, follow the guy into the alley. Take the gun off his corpse, equip it and shoot orc. Take orc's jacket, equip. Talk to dog. Go to graveyard, use scalpel to break into mausoleum, use slap patch on shaman. That should be a good start. Level up grind on ghouls in the graveyard while you're at it.

Try Super Mario RPG. I don't know if some would call it legendarily good, but I would. I got my hands on this in the late 90s, probably right before N64 was released, or thereabouts.
Any way, the game is entertaining, or was at the time, and I have great memories of the hours wasted ( spent) getting beat down by a Power Rangers rip off group of super baddies. Highly reccomended.

Yeah, I too got my ass kicked by the Rangers. I guess that was before the days that we considered power-leveling faggotry. Now, when I replay it, it's a relatively easy battle since I've spent so long wasting time leveling up.

Tales of Phantasia- You could normally find the English version anywhere, as Char Aznable stated.
Operation Logic Bomb-Yes, even though it's not an Action/RPG (It's straight action in a viewpoint similar to Metal Gear) I still recommend it.
I like the straight laser that can bounce off walls.^^

I just remembered, Front Mission: Gun Hazard. It's like Metal Warriors with leveling up. Take the shotgun for massive ownage.
