I bought some used games off eBay that turned out to be scratched and unplayable. I tried some Maxell CD cleaner on them, but no luck. Is there a high grade scratch remover I can buy?

I've never tried any of these so I don't know if they're what you're looking for. It's the first thing that came to mind.

I bought The Punisher PS2 game a few months ago that won't load past the opening warning sign. I tried my two DVD scratch removals, but it still won't play. I might give this Game Crazy a chance if they have it at the one near me.

God, that freakin' blows, man.

I think it was EB Games when it actually existed here that would repair discs for a couple dollars like Game Crazy apparently does. Definitely try that.

also, sometimes a skip dr. works a little better than those cheap kits you can get, but not always. you might need some hardcore shit. a lot of gamestop's still ahve such a device, but they won't just let you use them.

Yeah, for dirt and light scratches. You need to use the right sort of cloth with it too though, or you'll end up scratching the disc more.

Yeah who was the asshole that started the rumor that it worked doing that, I tried that on two discs and it ruined them more.

Just go to GameCrazy and use an industrial buffer on it

You also have to wipe it correctly. From the middle out, not in circles.

But, yeah, find a game store that has an industrial-strength buffer.

If nothing else you could always demand a refund from the eBay user you bought it from.

Me too! If for some freak reason Game Crazy doesn't have one you can always check out a Movie Rental Place or a CD shop. At the movie place they may not even charge you because they usually don't sell the service. Evil
EDIT: Before wasting any money hold the CD's up to a light source. Look at them from the bottom. If you can see light through a pin sized hole or bigger, your game is offically garbage.

Game Crazy, at least over here, is a game store within a movie store (hollywood Video). I know there are a few localy owned game stores around here that will resurface your disk for about 5 bucks or so. Maybe try a local game store if you got one. Not really much help i suppose.

I've got discs that are so scratched you'd assume they're good for nothing but frisbees yet they work fine, and I've got ones that look perfect, and don't play shit. Confused
