Still wish they had SF3 peoples in there (specifically Yang/Yun). Also, isn't Akuma announced I thought I saw screenshots of him in it.
Also, Off topic sort of, but this is still the most epic video game footage I have ever witnessed:

you know, as much as everyone hates SFIII story wise, adding alex, dudley, or yun/yang mkaes a titty bit more sense than adding THREE DEAD PEOPLE.
oh well, at least tehy're bonus people and not actually part of the story. rose and gen were definite surprises.

Akuma's that "secret character guy" again. Also, Gouken's CPU only in the arcade version. I'm miffed @ the fact there's no III chars, but at least the roster isn't looking as boring as it did in the beginning: The big 12 and 4 new guys from KoF and Tekken.
Also, Dose of Reality: Capcom doesn't care about the canon as much as we do. It explains why Charlie was killed 3 times (=/), and Bison (and Gouken, apparently) rising from the dead. Gen's death was only in the UDON comics, and it isn't official.
Rose. Rose. ]ROSE. I am now content with this game.

gen died in street fighter alpha 3?
charlie was only killed once at the end of alpha 3, which retconned guile's story from SFII?

It's 2/17. Street Fighter IV day, FUCK YES.
I won't be able to play it for a month or so, but who's getting it today? For what console? Is anyone getting the special edition/controllers? And how awesome is it?
Also, soundtrack. It's missing some songs, but it's still face-rocking, especially Ken's, Guile's, and the new characters.
Just picked it up, shredding through unlocking the characters. its really fantastic!
I got it for 360 and was really lucky to pick it up without preordering.
Back to it....
UPDATE: Been playing all morning and its fucking awesome. One of my favorite features is how when you are playing through the arcade mode, anyone from XBL can randomly interrupt and challenge you just like in the arcade.
After shredding them you proceed to continue playing through the arcade mode, its very slick and well implemented and got me just a little bit nostalgic for those quarter balancing on the marquee days.
I'm going to a Street Fighter IV party this Friday where I hope to play it quite a bit. I'm really stoked on it.

I'm debating whether or not to get this.
I liked Street Fighter II back in the day, but I was never really good at it until like 1999. I love all four Marvel/Capcom games, but I never really liked SF3 or the Alpha series or Capcom vs. SNK, so I can't see myself really liking this game. But it's one of those games that you sort of HAVE to own. But $60 is an awful lot to pay for a game that I might end up barely touching.
I do not own a 360 or a PS3. Its fine. I waited for years to play SFIII, I can wait to play IV.
Even better, with this game as a success, and Capcom being Capcom, its almost certain that there will be an expansion. Hopefully bringing back Q or adding Haggar.

Hopefully instead of separate games like in the past, they'll make them as add-ons like the ones for Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls IV.

I kind of would like to see Haggar but I think they'd basically just make him a Zangief clone since they have pretty much the same moves.

I just got through playing it for a couple hours. Pretty solid game. I really haven't gotten too into the new mechanics, but if you play II alpho, or any of the previous titles, you can jump right in. you have a couple options on how to use your super bar which is cool, graphics are great, and the last boss is a fucking son of a bitch. I'm unlocking players by beating the game right now, so I haven't been able to check it out with anyone but ryu ken and guile. Also, the controlls seem to be a touch more sensative than the previous titles. I'm just super pleased that it plays just like a 2d game. Not any 2.5d bullshit no sidestepping or anything just good ol fashion counters... also no air block

Fucking motherfucker FUCK.
I'm playing on the default medium level and doing fine, until I (playing as Ryu, just to see how shit works this time out) have to fight that queef Abel, who spams the SAME FUCKING THROW MOvE EVERY GODDAMN FOUR SECONDS. To reverse that you have to simultaneously hit LP + LK and pray to motherfucking God, otherwise you get spun around and stomped like a bitch. I STILL CAN'T BEAT THIS DOUCHE. The AI is retardedly cheap, which I guess is classic Street Fighter, but FUCK.
WHY are all of his ultra combos unstoppable yet he can skip or spin right through mine like it's nothing?? WHY IS HE THROWING ME EVERY FUCKING TIME??? I was playing Ranked matches that were simple compared to this. WHAT THE FUCK? ARGH ZEKE SMASH FUCK.
