I don't know the answear, so someone tell me, please. Because, I thought it was for opinions and bullshit for humor, and forum history, not a legitimate source of information.

So, innocent with this belief, I make a couple of articles with frail attempt at humor. The articles in question are of Math and My Chemical Romance. My Math post was:

Math
Math sucks, end of story

and the MCR one was:

My Chemical Romance
My chemical Romance is a crappy ass band that I had to pretend to like so that me and some girl I liked named claire could have some common ground.

We never did hook up.

So, a couple of days after I post these, I find both of them deleted by Gpfontaine.
Why does he delete them? His reasons:

(deleted "Math": Great... math sucks... everyone knows this. We don't need a wiki page about it. If you have something real to say about math, then recreate this article. Otherwise let it die.)

(deleted "My Chemical Romance": If you have content to write about the band please recreate the article. If you have a story, the forums might be a better place unless you have content with it.)

My case:

math. Nobody gives a fuck about math. I was doing homework and it crossed my mind to look it up. When no article existed, I thought I'd make one. I figured, maybe some poor kid would do the same one day while he did his homework, and have a little chuckle that brightend his day.

Sure, I didn't say anything about math, but so what? The Fight Club article is nothing but "we don't talk about fight club." We all love that movie, why not have an actual article on it? Because we don't talk about it. And I don't have a problem with that. Now math, that no one wants to talk about, gets deleted for haveing nothing real said about it. Is sydapedia about information?

Now that MCR. This one I can see why it was deleted. Sort of. See, A lot of bands have good pages on the wiki, but they are bands that people on this site actually likes. NOBODY ON THIS SITE GIVES A FLYING FUCK ABOUT MCR! Nobody. Nobody on this site would touch MCR with a stick. Odviously, or there would have been an article on the wiki. So, why am I chastised for makeing an article, even if it doesn't really pertain to MCR.

I think that Gpfontaine likes MCR. I also hope he feels awkward because I exposed him for the Gerard Way likeing bastard he is.

I just feel I was slightly wrongfully targeted. Does anyone agree?

(oh, and I don't care if I get modded or kicked out of the site. I'll show up again somehow)

Dude, don't be a dumbass. All GPF is implying is that you need to type at least a paragraph for your article to be legit. Hell, i made one, and it's still there so use it as a guide line. Sheesh...kids

A paragraph can be only one sentence long. You learn that in the first grade. Sheesh...dropouts.

The MCR thing was kind of funny. Keep posting it. And if he deletes it, post it again.

And math sucks? Maybe it's because you don't understand it. Math is a beautiful and wonderful thing if you understand any bit of it. It's like science. Or art. Beautiful if you know it, confusing if you don't. So instead of wasting time posting pointless articles with only "Math Sucks" on there pick up a book and learn! I suggest "Why Beauty is Truth: A History of Symmetry" by Ian Stewart. It's a good book to begin with.

And "oh, and I don't care if I get modded or kicked out of the site. I'll show up again somehow" then fucking leave prick!

It is mostly for site history, member history, forum in-jokes, and random pop culture-y stuff. The wiki was becoming cluttered with crap, so a directive was handed down by me back in July or so to the wiki staff to delete any article under five sentences, the reason being that if you couldn't even come up with five sentences, then the entry wasn't worth writing in the first place. At the staff's discretion, articles up to ten sentences in length can be deleted if they are felt to be insubstantial. Also, when creating an entry is slanted in one way on a subject, be forewarned that it may be edited by others with opposing views. For example, Valdronius was a math major, so a wiki entry about how math sucks would probably get deleted no matter how long it was. Members are instead encouraged to but their beliefs and opinions into their member entry on the wiki, or a secondary page on the wiki.

Before creating a new entry, ask yourself the following questions:

1. Is it revelant to the site in some way?
2. Do I have anything substantial to say on the subject?

If you answered "No" or "I'm not sure" to questions 1 and 2, or "yes" to question 3, then please keep the subject matter on a wiki page that is somehow about you.

Well, "kid" where I went to school paragraphs weren't one sentence long. Try and tell that to a college professor. I'm sure you'd get an "A" on that five sentence long paper for your five paragraph essay.

So, you are left with three options essentially: Let it go, put that shit back up in its original shitty form, or make up some bullshit to go with your one sentence paragraph. End of thread. Locking will proceed in 5......4......3..............

What you wrote was too short. You blurted out some angry feelings. I don't disagree, I simply don't feel that it is enough content to warrant a Wiki page. If you wrote some facts about math (true or not) I would have probably left it up. I suppose that is what defines a page in a wiki. The content needs to be factual rather than opinionated. Exceptions are personal pages and subsections specifically designated as opinion segments.

The reasoning is because unlike forums, each post/change doesn't show who wrote it other than in the history. In this case, math sucks... according to who? I hope this makes more sense and you understand why I deleted the article. Like I said, if you really have something to say about math, please recreate it.

I don't think I have ever heard My Chemical Romance. What I wrote above holds true for this article too.

You shouldn't be. A hatred of math is completely contrary nowadays as most of people lives are guided by computers in one way or another which of course, all run on 0s and 1s being processed. Math IS science. Math is physics. There is math in everything. Of course this day in age, it's not so much anymore with how easy can be now compared to our early ancestors. We are what AI strives to be. Our AI is essentially no different in terms of programmed AI other than the capability to learn and adjust, which they are overcoming through actual programs to some extent. We have judge factors and make decisions based on those factors at every single little moment, it's just that quite a bit of what runs us isn't directly visible to our minds, the subconscious.

Anyway, I know you're probably just hating on Math partially for fun, but if you didn't have any comprehension for the subject, you'd likely not live a normal life in this world. Regardless of your personal feelings about Math, putting a math article up which consists of the concise statement that it sucks is weaked-minded and also a very lame joke. You at least could've come up with something witty or at least something of entertainment value, you know, something that can be processed, at least by my mind, as a joke. Saying that you hate something isn't funny unless you at least have a follow up or something.

I too dislike math. I went through schooling saying "to hell with math, I wont need this once I'm in the real world!"

jokes on me now, taking three math classes before I can even get into anything about game design.

Exactly. If you dislike Math, that's understandable. If you're not good at Math, that will happen. We can't be good at everything, it would be paradoxical.
