Aside from the incredibly shitty cutscenes, this game is actually really fun. I'd like to see it remade as WiiWare.

Uh, 100%.
I don't know if any of you guys read what I originally posted, but I said I'd like to see it on WiiWare. WiiWare is the section of the Nintendo Shop Channel dedicated to new games, remakes, and anything else that isn't a straight port of a game for a console currently supported by the Virtual Console. A WiiWare version would take the original concept of Hotel Mario (i.e. an interesting Elevator Action variant) and reapply it to a new game built from the ground up with new sprites, new levels, new everything. Like the WiiWare version of Dr. Mario.

Hotel Mario HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ELEVATOR ACTION!
Those are both completely different games! For example, Elevator Action doesn't suck.
Plus, in Hotel Mario you shut doors, while in EA you try to get to the bottom of the building.

They'd have to make the gameplay more interesting somehow. I almost fell asleep watching a youtube of someone playing it just now. Having more than 1 fucking screen throughout the whole game would be a good starting point I think. I'm not so sure Nintendo would want to remind people about the bastardization of its best franchises though.

I'd like to see them remake it as well. It would also be neat to see those obscure Zelda CD-i games brought back to life on the Wii too.
