I'd have to disagree. Peter Frampton's "Frampton Comes Alive" is an excellent live album. Most of the time though, the studio version is better. Depends on the band.

A. Live albums can be great, take Rock in Rio by Iron Maiden for example.
B. Where the fuck is the Iron Maiden? Would it kill them to put in Hallowed be thy name, or Aces High?

I'm glad to see some At the Drive-in and Mars Volta in there. Too bad this didn't come out 5 years ago when i cared a lot more about them. (their pretentiousness grates on your nerves after a while) I can't say i'm entirely pleased with the line-up, however, i understand this game is to have mass appeal, so it's not going to cater to my specific tastes.

I'm happy to see Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Silversun Pickups, Van Halen, and R.E.M. on there...however, I really don't think that god-awful 30 Seconds to Mars song belongs on there.

I wish they had beautiful girls by van halen instead. I don't know a lot of van halen because I am only 21, but that song rocks the hardest of the ones I know, other than maybe eruption, which I guess would be sweet too.

3 Tool songs? WTF?! Rock Band 2's soundtrack kicks this game's ass.

I don't mind that therea re 3 Tool songs, but why aren't any of the Tool songs I actually want there? Something by A Perfect Circle would've been a nice replacement for one of those, since 3 does seem a bit much.

How the hell did they get Lacuna Coil on there? That's a pretty obscure gothic wuss band, there's nothing heroic about their guitar work, so it should not be on this game.
Oh and I do not care for the doors at all, no, never, nuh uh.

It's not a bad tracklist really, but I have to agree with this post...

I cannot believe that Mars Volta song is on there, it kicks so much ass and therefore so will this game.
edit: love spreads by stone roses is so 90's and wails so much, fuck yes.

I don't care what songs/bands shouldn't be on there. The fact that Stranglehold is on the game makes everything else okay.

I also found this, its all the songs you will be able to initially download when the game is released. Apparently you can get the new Metallica album in its entirety....but the Hendrix Track Pack sounds like it will kick ass, and 1979 is real good too.
Metallica Album: Death Magnetic
* Metallica - "That Was Just Your Life"
* Metallica - "The End of the Line"
* Metallica - "Broken, Beat & Scarred"
* Metallica - "The Day That Never Comes"
* Metallica - "All Nightmare Long"
* Metallica - "Cyanide"
* Metallica - "The Unforgiven III"
* Metallica - "The Judas Kiss"
* Metallica - "My Apocalypse"
* Metallica - "Suicide & Redemption J.H."
* Metallica - "Suicide & Redemption K.H."
Smashing Pumpkins Pack
* Smashing Pumpkins - "1979"
* Smashing Pumpkins - "The Everlasting Gaze"
* Smashing Pumpkins - "G.L.O.W."
R.E.M. Track Pack
* R.E.M. - "Horse To Water"
* R.E.M. - "Man-Sized Wreath"
* R.E.M. - "Supernatural Superserious"
Jimi Hendrix Track Pack
Tracks to be Announced

Unforgiven 3? Right now the Smashing Pumpkins one is the only one I like, but I'm sure when the Hendrix track listing is announced I'll be pleased.

"Pull Me Under", "Dammit" and "Prisoner of Society" for the fucking win.
I do realize one of the above is not like the others, but Dammit is probably my favorite Blink song ever. The Living End is one of the most underrated bands to ever exist, and well, no need to elaborate on DT.
I made the mistake of buying "Constant Motion" by Dream Theater for Rock Band off the XBLM. I thought I could handle any song that that game could throw at me on expert. Then I played "Constant Motion".
Let's just say, a minute later, I had a very sore wrist, fingers were on fire, and my face, as well as my TV, bore an expression of epic failure. I'm sure somewhere, John Petrucci was weeping at my virtual raping of his work. That song is by far the most difficult RB song I've ever played.

It's been four games already; would it kill them to put some ACDC in the game?

They should have had the live version of "Hotel California" as featured in that album Hell Freezes Over instead of the original studio version. The intro is much more kick-ass!
